Cosplay, you know you like it.

Hey everyone, I figured I'd go for a thread starter today, I'm in the mood, the moon is nice, that sort of thing =D

So, to get down to buissness.

Cosplay, a subculture centereed on derssing up as video game, anime, manga, j-band, or even t-tv characters.

Quite a bunch of people find it lots of fun, and I am only just experiencing the begining, and am going to jump much more headlong into it now that I've been to my first event, even if in comparison to my NEXT event, it was very small.

So, here will be a therad to discuss your ideas, ask for help on costumes, show off yer duds, whatever you want to do, concerning cosplay. C'mon folks, lesse yer stuff =)

I'll start.

I've attached a picture, not very detailed, I'm working on fixing that, of me as Alucard from the anime series "Hellsing" I wore this to the recent Providence Anime Masked Ball. (Which I had a blast at, personally) and I even took second in the male costume competition. WOOT!

My next few projects are going to be Alucards Second outfit from the series, Vincent Valentine(FF7), Fei Fong Wong and Citan Uzuki (both from Xenogears) Any sudgestions, which should I work on more? I Know I should focus on two of them or so. Also, any tips on how to do some of the stuff I'll have to pull off for them?

That aside as well, who here is plannin on goin to Anime Boston '05? And are you going in costume?

Im pretty new to cosplay too, I've dressed up at a con, and pulled together some themed looking outfits, but I dont consider it cosplay really...

although I just got a new sewing machine and am learning, and my first real cosplay attempt is going to be lilith from beatmania... Im not sure which style this outfit is from (I think it made its first appearance in 7th?) but I really cant wait till its finished :D

(Lilith is my favorite~ plus she has a really really hot brother and sister and her counterpart is insanley cute, and I read in a bio that she plays light 7 like meeee~ hehehe)

Once Im done with Lilith I will start work on Iroha, its just insanely hard to work on Lilith since PVC vinyl is tricky to work with! (Iroha will be for my cuzzin~ I would like to have either a Lilith/Shem or Lilith/Iroha couple cosplay :3 )


aah Im rambling~ well if I go to Anime Boston or Otakon, Im gonna holla at Lisa coz' beatmania cosplay is top XD

Ok, here's me as Pop Star Yuna from FFX-2. Did this two years ago after watching that short concert scene online. The back-up dancers were a last-minute addition, pretty much hot-glued together moments before. My hair used to stand up like hers, but by the end of a hot & humid SoCal summer day, it all went flat.

Edward 'eh? If my hair were more blonde... well... blonde at all really, I'd do an edward costume, but sadly mind is brown.

I'd liek to see that costume, *is watching FMA right now, so would be wicked excited to see that*

I'd really like to have a costume for AB '05, but I really don't have many ideas. I'm a white dude with curly light brown hair, about 5" 9' and fairly broad shouldered. Hehe sounds like a dating add...

i went to anime expo 2002 as lain (serial experiments lain) and cube (jet set radio future...yes, i had on rollerblades). i was also chun-li for halloween three years ago, and although this is not technically cosplay, i was leeloo (the fifth element) for halloween two years ago. yes, i died my hair orange. i was also a crappy elisa maza (gargoyles) last year for halloween...i wanted to get the wig, which would have made it more apparant that i was in costume, but couldn't find one in time.

hm....i want to go to anime expo again, but i don't know when i'll actually have the money to do that. :/ still, the costumes i wanna do...
