Hey welcome to the forums.
To get an avatar you go to Control Panel, then edit avatar.
I think you need to 25 posts to get one though. I'm not sure if thats still the case, but it may be.

I had pink hair for a day. But then it faded to a rusty orange, and then to a pretty bright orange. And then I let it wash out and it was bleach-blond. Fun.

Hi everyone. Ok, so 25 postings. I shall commence with them. Thanks for the warm welcome. Yeah, my hair is now a black and blondewhitecrappink color. I am doing my best to fix it. I'm thinking a nice dark red, so I can get an office job, but still spike the SHIT out of it on the weekends, and chill at TGA. Any suggestions?

Usually the membership upgrades don't automatically happen when you hit 25 posts, but rather they happen at the top of the hour. Such is how the server is configured and I think the poor thing would die if the former were the case. :]
