Maintence updates

A special thanks goes out to Ed for spending 9 hours with me servicing Drummania and Beatmania. Here’s what we (actually he) did:

Drummania

Ed took apart the entire hi-hat on Drummania, re soldered the mother board, contacts, sensor and lights. The final problem to be solved with the hi-hat were the occasional random misses. This was being caused by the plug that carries the signal from the sensor to the motherboard. The soldering on the plug was loose and the vibration from the hi-hat would occasionally cause the plug to jolt of position causing a miss. This problem has finally been solved. The lights on the hi-hat are now working as well.

Ed also re-soldered the wires from the motherboard to the sensor and secured it.

Beatmania

Ed took apart the entire Beatmania machine and gave it a good cleaning. He also took apart and re-wired the sub-woofer. The sub-woofer is now up to specs and stronger than ever.

If you haven’t heard the news, the picture to IIDX is now crystal clear. About 2 weeks ago, we found a direct S-video out from the mother board which allowed us to bypass the converter box and run directly to the S-video on the TV.

Cleaning issues

If there were a cleanup day and I were actually abe to make it there I'd be willing to help. The bathrooms at TGA are absolutly vile. I'd rather drive 30-40 minutes back to Warwick to use a clean toilet rather than use one at TGA again.

The front bathroom was cleaned about 2 weeks ago ( by me :-) ) and even has flowers in it now (thanks Amanda). The back bathroom sucks because the back toilet continues to leak. I keep locking the back bathroom to prevent people from using it, but somehow people keep gaining access to it. The back bathroom is now being used for storage, so that will finally put an end to the problem.

My next project is to vacuum the front room, I have to buy some more vacuum bags, but due to my current sucky schedule, It will have to wait until Saturday.

I am also finally disposing of all the lost and found items and other random crap hanging around TGA. This massive cleaning will continue throughout the weekend.

The bathroom will also be re-cleaned.

Also, don’t forget to sign up for the game shows on the thread below.

Thanks

Andy
