KOF 2003 in TGA?

Laptop + SNK emu + PS2 > USB converter + Fighting sticks = KOF2k3 for a much cheaper price.

See? People would rather bring the extra equipment than use up the quarter in a cabinet, in that respect, are there any games worth putting in the cabinet since TGA has the console rule?

Bemani is the only thing really worth it to TGA because most bemani home versions suck.

To put it bluntly, that's true.
Unless your rich and have ASCs (Arcade Style Controllers for those who don't know), the arcade machine is really the best you can get from any Bemani game, and I think that's been proven by TGA.

Oh, KOF2k3 is fucking awesome. However, it wouldnt be WORTH it to TGA, especially when you can emulate it perfectly for almost free.

See, the fact of having it there isn't the issue. It's the fact of it making a sufficient amount of money in order to cover the cost it was to buy it. Look at SVC, I'm sure that hasn't paid itself off yet, in fact, has anybody played that game lately?

SVC sucks. Plain and simple. a small amount of characters, with the best being hidden and selectable through annoying button codes. Not to mention comboing in that is a pain.

I'd definetly pump some quarters into 2003, though.

I think getting KOF 2003 at this point is a bad idea. It's too new. If you want to do something else with the cabinet, I'd say get something older that you know people still play, like Super SF Turbo or something. SvC was way too new, so it wasn't widely known that it's just not a very good game. I don't think it's an issue of number of characters (stuff like GGXX and 3S don't have that many but are still good). The button codes don't really bother me, since there's a list of them right on the machine. And comboing is a pain? I think it's pretty lenient compared to stuff like CvS2. No, the problem with that game is that the developers just rushed it. Character balance is off, and hit detection is HORRIBLE. The system itself is bad. I still play it for kicks, but it's definitely not among my favorite games.

There are definitely fighting games that are MUCH worse on console than they are in arcade (eg, non-Dreamcast CvS2, 3S, Alpha 3). At some point, I think it'd be worthwhile to consider doing something else with that cabinet. However right now, I think there are plenty of other issues that should be resolved before that happens.

I always bring my DC and play Capcom fighting games with anyone who wants to. Not that great at KOF games (don't play them), but I might be game.

I'm personally a little worried about this all 3D KOF thats only coming out on PS2. I remember the last time a SNK fighter went 3D was Fatal Fury: Maximum Impact. And it was just horrible. I really hope they mess it up.
