A small DDR tournament? I know TGA isnt the kind of place to pack 50 people in for a tournament, but maybe have a small one?
If a bunch of people want to enter... have one half go one day, the other half go the next day, and the finals after that?
5-10 dollar fee for the tourney, if you want to play other games then add in the extra prices?

I'm not really suggesting I run it since I'd want to be in it, but if this was possible, it'd definitally be an excuse for a family member to drive me down there instead of a crappy mall with no maintenance. :D

ddr is on its way out, who wants to play any tourney anymore when you know people like rob stevens and xalastor are going to come and clean up

But then they would talk trash about TGA and things could get ugly.

Isn't that how you get better? Play people who are better than you? It'd be kinda lame to enter tournies only if you think you could win.

See. I agree, and disagree, I think it would be lame to ban certain people from tournies.... but....

I agree, what is the point of going to a tourny when you know you're going to get your ass handed to you?

There is the social interaction, and the fun of being at a trourny.

The problem with games like DDR is, once you get good enough to AAA songs, there is nothing people can do to beat you other than AAA more songs more consistently.

I have competed in other sports, 1 on 1 sports, and strategy , endurance, AND Skill come into play in those, and thats why I would go to them, because you can go against someone 2, 3 ,4 5 times and have a different outcome every time. And I like that.

With games like DDr and IIDX, it's straight up who has higher technical skill.

This is just my input. I had an idea that would allow winners to be removed from Tourny rosters, to be put into a "winners" bracket for a later tourny, but it would require alot of organisation, alot of small tournies leading up to the big one. And no one seemed interested... oh well.

Anyway, I'm out.

Could not have said it better myself. DDR is a game in which there is truly only one factor and that is your technical ability. Nothing else. By the time you are good enough to AAA you have enough stamina and strength to play for a LONG time. Games like soccer, chess, CHECKERS have more factors because there are more possibilities. That's why I think we should hold a board game tourny. > . <
