I can't wait for SH4. I already put down my deposit for the pre order.
And typing of the dead is hella fun. Still need to finish the Fatal Frame games though.

I've been meaning to start getting into those games. I have played Eternal Darkness, which , as far as I understand it, is pretty low on the scale of the Horror Genre Games. although the sanity meter was a cool touch, I think.

Regardless. I'm gona go out and try and buy me some of the old school Silent Hill games later this month when I have monies again. Wooot.

Remeber to play the classics, Resident evil 2 is a must.

WEll, I have played RE2, beat it in a day or so actually now that I think back. But yea, I wasn't entirely sure how much those counted as good horrors.

Whichever way you swing it, the RE's were at least decent =)

They were far more than decent. They owned all. Resident Evil 4 is most definitely going to far surpass Silent Hill 4. The Silent Hill series has, to me, lacked good puzzles and fighting controls. But Resident Evil, especially the new cube remakes, have excellent control, freaky camera angles, good puzzles, and scary beasties. And a decent plot. So yeah. RE pwnz SH.

well, Silent Hill has the option to set the puzzle modes to hard or easy. the games freak my out more than Resident Evil.
I also played Resident Evil ZERO all the way thru a few years back. thats the only game i like on the 'cube other than SSBM, and Donky Konga. (my opinion)

also im very glad people are replying to this thread seriously, and i havent been flamed about it. (and juggs hasnt said anything either...should i be concerned?) :D

silent hill was freaky, but i didn't get far. i don't remember much, either. the dark alleyway with a flashlight...and looking for keys...and a diner or a bar or something. having to fight creatures in there. it didn't hold my interest and i had to return it soon anyway.

i watched my brother go through all of 1 and 2...well, those are the ones i remember clearly. i was too scared to play them back then. ^^; well, i still am...but i'm working on it. i'm still at the beginning of the first resident evil (gamecube remake...very scary)...taking it step by step.

i'm also playing fatal frame. goddamn that game scares me. i'm moving even slower on that one than i am on resident evil. i don't even know the plot...just that deaths occur on that mansion. ^_^; haha.

anyway...i get scared really easily, but i love it for some reason. i just can't take it for long cuz i'm a wuss...still, i play whenever i muster up the courage. :]
