Yes Port Con Maine is indeed more con action. It is located in South Portland, Maine right near the airport. The convention is at the Starwood Shearton which is a the same kind of hotel that anime boston is just that anime boston is not in a hotel its in the Hynes Convention Center. The hotel is 89 dollars a night and online pre-registration up to Jan 1st, 2005 is only 20 dollars. Port Con Maine has contests such as AMV Contest, Cosplay, Fantasy Art Contest, Anime art contest, Fanfiction contest and more. I also heard from the forums that they are gonna actually have a mini arcade. These games include

Dance Dance Revolution Extreme
-Dance Dance Revolution 5th mix

-And more to come!
-All thanks to Snooj and Power Up Arcade!

Yah I havent really been to Maine either, well I have but I ended up getting lost and was heading towards Canada. Yah it seems really cool and its cheap and 2 DDR machines whould be awesome and the hotel price is really good consedring that the hotel is a really good one. Yah I am going to because it will be the end of Sophomore year so I figure go to an Anime Convention! ^___^

Its quiet tempting, but being that I am only 14 and cannot drive myself, and also that my parents are not anime fans, I think I'm screwed. Daily. And are you really planning on going on playing DDR most of the time? Because that just seems like a waste of money. $20 + $89*2 = Way more than the number of DDR games you'll play.

I've been to PortConMaine the last two years, and I thought it was a nice small convention, and I had a lot of fun.

At least any DDR tournaments will be on an arcade rather than soft mats this time -_-

Yah thats a big pluse. Also they are gonna have Halo 2 16 player with 4 t.v.'s and they might have a dance this year. It also looks cool because I think like 1,000 people might end up going so that is small and that can be a good thing unlike having 8,000 or more. Yah my friend also said the the hotel is so much nicer then last year! ^___^ :D

It's sounds a little odd to me... On their forums they are asking to borrow people consoles for the weekend! : P AB just sounds better...

Yes, I have talked to the chairman/manger of the Video Games at Port Con Maine and he said that Snooj ( A port con maine member) might also bring Para Para Paradise Machine and the Beatmania/Beatmania IIDX machine. So right now we are looking at the following machines and possiblity's for Port Con Maine 2005.
1. DDR 5th Mix Machine
2. DDR Extreme Machine
3. Shamsien Brothers Gitar Machine
4. Beatmania/Beatmania IIDX Machine (Maybe)
5. Para Para Paradise Machine (Maybe)

Yah so there might be more machines also it just all depends on the room they are gonna have at Port Con Maine. I will be bringing my Xbox/Ultramix (yes ultramix kinda sucks but it is DDR), DDR Extreme US, DDR Extreme JP, DDRMax2, DDRMax, Konamix and Beatmania. Halo 2 is gonna be there which is gonna be fun and so is Doom 3 as well. So far this looks like its gonna be a fun convention! ^___^

I get kinda lucky when it comes to Anime Convetnions I guess. Yah my parents say they will drive me to Anime Conventions as-long as I pay for them! ^___^ thats why I am happy that I can go to Port Con Maine 2005, Providence Masked Ball and Anime Boston 2005!
