I was able ot get my hands on a Toyota sponsored copy of Grand Turismo 4 and play 2 different race tracks with 2 different Toyota cars. All i can say so far is that this game is going to be a really well done racing simulaiton.
After talking to the Sony rep who was there, i found out that each HUD (Heads Up Display) is modeled after each individual car. So looking at the interior of the Toyota Prius, a new Toyota Hybrid car, it shows how efficent the car is useing it fuel and the miles per gallon. And this Toyota concept car ( i forgot the name) shows how well the tires are gripping the surface they are on and how rough the ride is. ontop of that, there will be 500 cars, each with its own realistic style HUD.
So far this game is looking amazing, the only thing that worries me is the online multiplayer. Since GT 4 is adding a black flag system (penalties for over aggressive racing like hitting opponents, riding walls, cutting over the grass) that is inforced by a reduced speed for a certian amount of time (from what i have read/heard). Sounds good in theory, but what is stopping the guy infront to slam his breaks so the one behind him has no time to slow down or dodge, forceing the player behind to be penalized while the first place racer just takes off. Well, the only way to find out is to wait for the release, it should hit stores on November 14 or 15.
