starting a band

starting a screamo band, i sing, and i want someone to scream, and all the usual stuff, guitars, bass, drums. :), please post only if you are serious and live near or in woonsocket or have a reliable mode of transportation

Who do you want to sound like? I'm not particularly interested yet, but for folks who may be, they might wanna know. When you say screamo, i assume you mean Thursday/Taking Back Sunday/Coheed

lol, yeah i know, the thing is, i dont want to sound like a carbon copy of fata, i was only trying to get a vague sense of what i want out there, id be glad to improvise with other musicians because i want a unique sound and i would be more that willing to work with musicians who could stand to improve their skills a bit, but yes double bass would be nice, oh and i want a lead guitarist with a particular fondness for harmonics and not just pluck the low e string alot, oh, and if anyone is interested i have a wide range of musical tastes so i would also be down for starting a ska band

Ok ill see what i can do. but the thing is that i have no experience with a double bass :( , i took lessons for about 2 years so i know about rhythms and all that shit and i can do drum beats to match the music. And with school starting up soon i wont have a HELL of alot of free time but ill have some free time for practices.

rob, what do you sound like when you sing? I'm possibly willing to swing down and jam, but i don't wanna go to some unorganized thing. Just so you know, i've been playing bass for about 7 or 8 years, so you can imagine.

im told i sound like the lead singer of something corporate, but a lot more energetic, and while it would be awesome to do the whole jam thing, im gonna need bandmates who are all around the same skill level so as not to cause tension(as in all the bands ive ever been a part of)

disagree my friend. No music genre sucks really, because all have their fans. I might not like country, but i can respect the effort put into it. Sure, pop punk is mostly four chord wonders, but they've made it. Which is more then i can say for me or you.
I myself was a huge pop punk fan. And i still to this day love the Ataris. Especially "Blue Skies, Broken Hearts, Next 12 Exits"

OMG The Ataris are my favorite band and that is their best CD :)

San dimas HS football rules is the best song,their newest cd (So long astoria) does not do them justice though. all their older cds are better.
