Quoted from Bemanistyle:
This Fax (http://www.bemanistyle.com/iidx11.jpg) sent to me by Ver2 has recently been sent to arcades in japan, confirming the release of Beatmania IIDX 11. Location tests are currently in progress, and we're waiting for some sort of songlist to surface. Ver2 is going to keep me posted as to what he finds and what he gets from his contacts throughout the week.

Some features pointed out in the Fax above include:

- Over 320 songs available for play
- Over 45 new songs
- Weekly Ranking from 9th Style returns
- E-Amuse system upgrade
- Songs from Pop'n Music and Guitar Freaks/Drummania will be included.

Rumors we've heard so far:

- An Onoken song is being featured, it's rumored to be Envelope from the Swell Strings album.
- A new Ryu* song is included.
- Iconoclasm (dj TAKA & wac) has a new song in the game.
- Kors K did the system music.
- Trance heavy (particularly Goa Trance).

We'll keep you updated as we find more information.

onoken + IIDX = sex

EDIT: Maybe we should consider this instead of 10th style; the timing may have been fixed properly. Plus new songs? :gator:

Oh, I just heard of the great news too!! :D :D :D
TGA should definitely consider an upgrade to 11th over 10th. The timing was off for two styles, they MUST have fixed it by now ;)

Ya but 11th upgrade wouldnt require more room or as much money, Popn 11th would be teh sex, but I think IIDX 11th would be enuff for me for a very long time

P.S. 300th Post!^^

When Andy asked me "Should I get 10th style?" I told him "Yeah, but if you wait just a few more months I bet they'll announce 11th style. These games come out every 6 months and 10th style is already a few months old. Then you can get either the newest 11th style or a cheaper 10th style. ;)"

Ta da! Of course, finding an upgrade kit is going to next to impossible.

That's true. I would like them to actually state that it's a dead franchise. But oh well, I am looking forward to more songs from the Bemani and licensed artists. Pop'n or IIDX, I'm not bias towards both. I'd say let's work for an upgrade kit, I really have a feeling this could work.

Just wish we all had better connections.

I would like to see a new DDR with a completly new song list with songs from IIDX, Popn, dm & GF, etc... Even though I have pretty much stopped playing DDR cept for once and a while, That would probably get me playing again. I mean, Who doesnt wanna play Traces or SA-DA-ME on DDR? ^^

Konami will not announce that a franchise is dead, especilly when it is taking off in the US. they are quietly moving production of the game from Japan to the US. And since their con-op division in the US shut down, you wont see any more DDR machines out there.

As for beatmania 11, can you say hot? I can!

Actually. my friend has a popn 10 machine in his basement. I think it was 6 grand all together, I dont think popn 11 would be that much off. You buy an older popn machine, with the RIGHT HARDWARE, and then get an 11 upgrade. IIDX 10th's song list was ALRIGHT. So I mean, as many can see, they're slipping. However, the popn franchise keeps getting better. and the music is actually on time.

Either would be hot.

Im just using common sence Bryan. I have never heard of any company announceing a once huge game title, like DDR or Sonic, to be dead. They shift the focus of the game or the audience. DDR shifted from japanese audience to an american. They are going where the money is. They got something that is still alive and kicking, and will milk it till it wont work anymore.

Bryan

You wasted your time, no offense. I asked for proof of the shutdown of the coin-op division. There must be some press release about it, you can't just assume that it's down.

I think that the franchise wont die, But it will become amercianized, Which I thought would be horrible, But if DDR Extreme home version is any indication, Maybe it could be good after all

Bryan there was an article on DDR Freak about it like year and a half, 2 years ago. i cant find it thoug I think since Konami put a lot of money into making the DDR USA arcade consoles and didnt turn a profit, they scrapped that division. If they waited untill atleast 6th mix in my opinion, they would of had a good working domestic arcade machine.

Well, if it's on the internet, it has to be true!

The KOA arcade division has been closed for a LONG time, smart one.

And if KOJ decides to make a new arcade DDR mix, it would probably be on new hardware. And besides, there are very few arcade machines in Japan now; most of them have been taken out due to declining profits and many have come straight to the US.

I understand that Noug, I mean, to say a unit is shut down is a very "be all, end all" statement. Many companies revisit dormant franchises, and maybe this is an example. I'm still happy with Extreme but I'm always wondering about what the future will hold. :]

Craz

Extreme in my opinion is the best mix yet. With 4th plus in close second. Who doesnt want those My Fire S-maniac steps? Im just saying that there wont be a US arcade release in the near future. But if the DDR series stays strong in the US for i would guess another year or so, konami might take another wack at it. They already announce they wont abandon Beatmania or DDR franchies, said by the head of the beamni division and Naoki in an interview i read on IGN a while back i think, so who knows whats going to happen.

I'm not. I've played it. Granted, it was difficult to get used to at first, I often did just a little worse than on the earlier styles. Besides, isn't tighter timing what people want to be able to go around saying they're better than each other?

Devil Warrior
August 2nd, 2004, 10:43
All the "OMG AWFUL TIMING" I've heard about on 10th style comes from people who just haven't played it, so they just assume its horrible timing. Everyone I know who HAS played it says its a little different and takes time to get adjusted to, but it isn't like trying to play D2R on Extreme. I remember certain people on here complaining that 6th Style CS has "weird timing" when in fact the timing is fine, but the display of it is different than on something like 5th or 4th style CS. Although I still think all those 8th style songs are a little odd.

And also, on what authority does ANYONE here have to say that DDR will or won't be coming out again, and will or won't be coming out in the US in an arcade format? Until someone has some clear facts, they shouldn't be saying everything like they know whats going on.

Craz
August 2nd, 2004, 13:36
i would think the fact the KOA coin op division being shut down would be a clear indication that they wont be making another US arcade version. If they re-open it thatsw a different situation.

But yea... everyone would complain about how 6th CS had horrible timing, but I can't find anything wrong with it- it's only a bit earlier or later than other styles. 7th style timing is earlier than 5th, and 4th is later than 5th (IMO), and 6th is somewhere in between, all the styles are different, but in no way is one tighter than the other. Well... *cough* gambol/perfect free *cough*

I mean, can I take a poll as to how many of you guys have actually played 10th style? Here's the old... "don't knock it until you try it" situation.

The TIMING on each style really isn't any different, they're all pretty much synced. However, Where you hit on the screen on 6th style is not where you'll hit on the screen on 4th style.

ZOMG Location test! (http://www.bemanistyle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8237) Including some guy's impressions of the text. (http://www.kobayan.jp/location_test/beatIIDX_11.htm)

Hacknyed translation follows:

The current version is 1.00A, as of 8/4/2004.
The card system was nonfunctional, but the machine was hooked up to e-amuse.
Options and modes are the same (LightX/XKeys/Free/Beginner/Expert/Class), but only the first three (light/normal/free) were available for use.
A clear rate percentage for a song is showed under the title, displaying how often people pass said song. The hardest song added (Galadelic) had a pass rate of 15% as of 8/4/2004 at 9 PM JST.
Songs that vary in BPM now show two BPM values -- the top value is the minimum BPM and the bottom value is the maximum BPM.
New difficulty added -- kin-8, flashing 8, 8+, whatever. Mostly applied to older songs (A, Kakumei, moon_child were among those bumped up), although there was one new song at 8+ (Galadelic). Other difficulties have changed (Gradius-Full Speed is now at 7, for example).
The UI is red as hell. Also, during one player games, the unused side of the screen is covered with a graph. One graph shows your current score in the song relative to the max, and the other shows the best score in all of Japan versus the max score to that point in the song.
Games ended after three songs (extra stage disabled, I guess). Konami staff would ask you questions about your experience after the game, and would take notes in this binder with some chick (the new girl for 11th) and the IIDX:RED logo on it.

This picture shows several screens and the aforementioned notebook. (http://kazumi.jdyn.cc/cgi-bin3/stored/up0606.jpg) Here is a picture of the new character (http://www.kobayan.jp/location_test/images/IIDX11/IIDX11-01l.jpg) -- notable here is that she looks a lot older than any of the other women in IIDX so far. Apparently, she is Lilith's older sister, too. I do not know what to make of any of this.

However, I do know that TGA needs to secure an upgrade kit. Andy needs to get on the phone to people and Japan and put in a pre-order. Needs.

The songlist is looking too good to be true. Artists and genres look super.

DJ Simon, Baby Weapon, Wall5, Raj Ramayya, DJ Swan. Awesome.

And why did A and Kakumei get bumped up? A is an 8 I can pass with regularity, and I can pass Kakumei like half of the time.

August 4th, 2004, 19:23
A is pretty damn hard. I can't pass it consistently (and oddly enough, I pass it more consistently on hard. Stupid ending...). Kakumei on the other hand is something I can pass nearly 100% of the time, with or without random (hell, I've done Kakumei [A] both ways; Kakumei looks easy after that).

You want to know what I think should be kin-8s?

Agreed. I can do Kakumei and A fine (well... Kakumei moreso, I don't pass A as often as I'd like :mad: ), but I can't pass stoic, Max300, nor The Safari for SHIT. In fact, they're the last songs I have to pass on 7keys ;_;

And please, someone inform Andy of the upgrade kit availability. This is something that I'd love to see in TGA (: The interface is great, and clean, and I've heard the timing has been improved (how much I don't know nor would notice myself, having never played 10th.)
