Silent Hill....

Has anyone experienced Silent Hill?? 1,2 or 3 ... I played, SH2 I believe.. I played that game for 8hrs straight.. got all the way through it.. had to cheat in a few parts.. lol (the net is an answer bank, it answers most all qustions.. hehe)

Anyone played these?? Experiences?

I heard the latest version is AWESOME!! Hadn't had the chance to play it yet..

i played silent hill 1....but i didn't get too far because i was getting scared and confused. and then i had to give it back (borrowed it from a friend).

i like the silent hill series so much more then resident evil. And that's amazing, because if you know me, you know that zombies are my cup of tea, to say the least. I just think SH has a much deeper story, and it's more realistic in it's weaponry. Lead Pipe? Sounds smashing....

I've never actually tryed Resident Evil .. heard it was Ok ... I think once I get these gigs done this month (I have A Mobile DJ service..:) ) I'll probably rent it to check it out... will probably get SH3 first.. cause I liked SH2...

i can't compare it to silent hill because i haven't played that one enough to give it a proper argument, but...i will say why i do like resident evil so.

once you get past the horrible voice acting, it's the puzzle and strategy part of it that sucks me in. you actually have to sit there and figure things out! @_@; and it's not easy. and you have to do all this while being afraid of something popping out of every corner...they love killing you with dramatic angles where you just KNOW something is near. i guess resident evil's story isn't that deep, but hey, at least they had one! ;p their main thing was obviously scaring you shitless.

it's the perfect game for me because i scare so easily...and i love getting scared. i don't know why. Oo; i'm fucked up like that.

Played the first Silent Hill game with a mate in the pitch dark of his room. I tell you what, no game has come close to making me as tense as that one did. The rather disturbing nurses were quite fun to hack up though. :D

The only disapointing factor was the multiple ending aspect, which I could never justify attempting to create because playing a linear game again doesn't hold too much appeal in my eyes.

...or because you don't have immadiate access to all the rooms, have to find your own maps, and have to find ways to unlock every door that is locked, or blocked, have to figure out riddles, find ways to use objects that at first seem useless, and you actually have to be careful with your ammo and health because you never get an abundance of them and the like...

I'm a huge SH fan. I got into it back when SH 1 first came out and was hooked ever since. I'm still not finished w/ 3 yet.
To anyone who hasn't played it yet- Make sure you have played and finished SH 1 before playing 3!!!

Anyways..the first one was a tiny bit creepy..mainly in the school and hospital..nothing to get freaked by though. The 2nd one wasn't scary at all (the only creepy part was that dude talking in the jail cell). So far 3 has been pretty freaky..maybe I'm just turning into a wuss but there have been some parts that have made me go "WTF!!?"

If you guys think SH is creepy you NEED to play Fatal Frame.

Silent Hill was amazing. And it's the only game I've ever played that was truly frightening. Roaming the twisted dark rusted world of the school or the city with THAT music...you know the music...
Amazing.

Played II a bit, got stuck, gave it up. Never picked up 3.

It's being released on XBox, PS2, and PC all on the same date. If I wasn't so lazy I'd actually go look up the projected date. :guin:

Heh, I remember the bathroom in pt.2.
It took me a moment to realise that the opening movie had stopped and i was actually supposed to be playing at that point..I really couldn't tell w/ the graphics and all. ^_^"
