I just wanted to let everyone know that TGA will be closed on Sunday July 4th. We will re-open on Monday at noon. I am closing because I actually have the day off from work and I would really like to spend the time to visit my father.
For those keeping score, my father was just denied an application for back surgery because his bone cancer is so severe. The doctors have pretty much given up hope for him to be able to walk normally again and have basically told him he's going to have to live with the pain and his limited mobility. I would really appreciate it if you could keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
I also think this would be a great time to reflect on everything that is going on in our country right now. If there was ever a time that we needed to stick together as Americans, it's now. We have a lot to be thankful for this 4th of July, we have the honor of living in the best country on earth. Unfortunately our freedom comes with a price, as we speak there are Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Sailors risking their lives to preserve this way of life that we enjoy.
Who would have thought that a small group of Soldiers in 1776 would start a revolution that changed the world. As members of the New England Community, we are very fortunate to live in a place where a majority of the major historical events of the American Revolution took place, including: Paul Revere's ride, the Battle of Bunker Hill, the "Boston Tea Party" and The "Shot heard 'round the world." New England truly is the birthplace of our country.
If you are not a big history buff and never really considered taking the time to learn about the American Revolution, you might find it very exciting to do so. You will gain a deeper appreciation of what our country is all about and the rich history at our fingertips here in New England.
At any rate be proud to be an American. And. as requested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, please be on the lookout for any suspicious / potential terrorist activity. If you do see something, notify the appropriate law enforcement agency at once. If we all work together we can make a difference. As citizens, national security is a duty of us all.
Well, God bless to all. Have a safe and fun holiday weekend, take time to enjoy friends and family while you can! Tell them you appreciate them and how much you care about them.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
