Hey guys. Just seeing if anyone has played Fatal Frame II, and what your thoughts are on it. You either love it or hate it. Mine's a love and hate relationship, because it scares the crap out of me and makes me shriek and have my parents think I'm being murdered. >.o;

Jen (iceymoon) and I are trying to play out Fatal Frame I, and we both love it, same love/hate relationship that you have with it too. I don't get scared when it comes to games like that - usually - but I was utterly freaked out all you have to kill ghosts is a freakin' camera.

I want to pick up Crimson Butterfly so badly, but I do want to see the end of the first one first.

I heard that the first one is based on a true story. =X That makes me even more scared to play that one. Crimson Butterfly is wonderful, though. I definitely recommend it. ^.^ Plus the girls are really cute.

So there's no connection between the first and the second one? Hmm... that could be more of a reason to buy it sooner, but then that'd be another game on our list that would have been started but not on it's way to completion.

I have it but I'm determined to finish the first one first.
I haven't played any that one in a very long time though. It scares the crap out of me and I had to turn it off :(
I wann play the 2nd. It looks good.

I didn't like Fatal Frame 2 that much. I loved Fatal Frame though. Maybe it was that I didn't have any time alone at night to play Fatal Frame 2. =\

as i tend to read games as opposed to actually playing them (saves money), here's what i can tell you

There a tiny wee lil connection between the first and section fatal frames. Something about the camera, i have no idea.

As for the "true story" thang, here's what it is. Back in the day, there was a cult in japan. The cult leader killed its members in particularly gruesome fashions, in order to seal the gate of some great evil. And that's it. No camera, no ghosts, just alot of blood.

Reminds me of other "true story" based things that were basically BS. Like Texas Chainsaw Massacre(the original). It was supposedly based on the story of Ed Gein, who also is charactered in Silence of the Lambs by Dr. Hannibal Mc Sexy. But in TCM, the only scene based on Ed Gein was the opening scene in the graveyard.

But yeah, by the games. From what I've read, they're awesome. :froggy:
but if you get the second one, watch out for the peeping boy, he's supposed to scare the butt hair out of people

Ooh, thanks for clearing that up. ^_^;

On a side not: I did a report on Ed Geins for my forensics class this year, and had to watch that movie as research. It was such bullshit.

Anyway get Fatal frame II, it's awesome. =p

yeah right, the only time you don't get scared is when you already saw me go through the part you're doing! ;D actually, i think you've been more scared through fatal frame than through resident evil...makes sense.

just like stax, i'm determined to finish the first one before i move on to crimson butterfly. but at the pace i'm moving, looks like that won't be for a couple years. i scare so easily, especially when it comes to ghosts...bryan's seen me. so i pretty much explore a new area, go save, turn it off, and don't touch it for weeks. ^_^;;

i'm actually not that interested in crimson butterfly since i have the first one...i don't need to be playing two at once. double the freaking out. Oo; i'm a sequencial order kinda person, too...so i'm definitely gonna wait until i finish this one.

I beaten both of the games... They are pretty good. I played the game with headphones and lights off, so, I don't have to worry about sleepers and can enjoy being immersed in the game. These games are definitely fun, but I still like the remake of Resident Evil 1 for gamecube better.

I play the same way I got the noise reduction headphones and it feels so awsome although there sometimes when my brother or my mom come in my room and scare the crap out of me :crybaby: btw I only liked fatal frame and silent hill games as horror

I knew I would find a post about this from Emily XD

I love it, I'm like... obsessed with it. o.O But I won't play it alone, either. It just scares me too much... (considering I have a cemetary like 50 feet from my front window -.-") But I like Crimson Buttefly (twins, anyone? XD!) ... I think it had a good storyline. Right. Storyline... :D;;;
