Help for Oracle of Seasons (heart piece spoiler)

I know that that witch Maple carries a heart piece with her, and that she drops it randomly and you can only collect it once, but I'm unsure as to whether she'll drop it again if you fail to pick it up the first time.
Can anyone tell me for sure?

As far as I can remember, she did drop it a second time. And thats when I picked it up. But I'm not an expert on this, remember that.

Yes, she will continue to drop it until you collect it, just don't wait too long or she'll upgrade her broom, making it extremely hard to collect once she drops it.
