to be honest ive never heard of Tatsunoko before, the characters look retarded (woo power rangers vs capcom) sf 4 is comming up I really see not point in getting this game when blazblue and KOF 12 are gonna be available.

No thats an opinion I think speed racer and friends should stay in their own game and stay out of 3D fighter land, especially before we even know if SF4 is going to work out gameplay wise. This just looks like a Bribe to try to get popularity back to a company who hasn't made a series that actually sold dvd's since 1995.

Without being premature and jumping the gun here on an announcement, I DO want to say that TGA is officially planning to get TVC or Blazblue, I am undecided on which to purchase to be honest.
The Guilty following at TGA is very strong, so naturally Blazblue will be very well received. For me TVC is a no brainer as the "Versus" series games have always been solid and have been actively played competitively for a decade after their release. So my solution, get both.
I am doing my best to budget wise to plan for this asap, and can't commit to anything at this point in time, but I will say this TGA plans to be current will all next generation fighters, with new hardware and new cabinets.
I want this to happen as much as everyone else does, as we still haven't been paid back by the companies that owe us money, budget is the only concern. So let's get some fund-raisers going, our first priority is to get by the SF4 obstacle (which I will go into more detail on after the Wangan tournament next weekend).
I'm glad to see that the discussion is passionate on both ends, I have faith both games will be solid, so I say give them both a try.
Thanks

That is irreverent being that it has nothing to do with the gameplay. I love how judge the game on characters selection instead of gameplay. Thats just plain scrub mentality. According to your logic you're suggesting not getting the game because of the cast of characters (which in your opinion you don't seem to be fond of). Do you honestly think thats a valid reason to just skip over this game? I don't think so and once again im gonna say its just plain ignorance. KOF12? Ask yourself how many people played 11 first. Its really quite sad this is the mentality a few people have over this game being that im was one of the hardcore VS series players that have been waiting for a new one for 10 years.

lots of crap here
So your saying Capcom vs Gumby and Pokey could be the best game evar because its got an amazing engine, no a good fighting game takes a balance between gameplay, character choice, and overall power balancing. There could have been many better choices then tatsunoko in my opinion (which i'm sorry for voicing in your presence oh godly sage whom i've never met). I've never been a fan of any of the crossover games in the first place since XMen Vs Street Fighter which I only played like 5 times in a pizza shop. I just don't like the whole push 2 buttons get combo and super and 2000 combos oh noes pwned by my addon characters that I wasn't even using at the time. but back on topic the only thing I know about Tatsunoko is that all of their known anime's are vintage with the exception of evangelion which is still over 13 years old. Their most recent work is a remake of an anime they created in 1977 which I nor probably half the people in our community probably know about. You can put capcom vs anything and the game will sell simply because nobody has to use the other characters, but that destroys the point. I think games should stick to games and anime's should stick to animes because its the same concept of them turning video games into movies they don't work very well. If you want to use goofy anime characters, put them in mugen, but I seriously can't ever see this being as successful or as well done as the mvc series (even tho I dread saying that). The idea of this series being concidered a "Serious balanced tournament fighter" to me is as absurd as concidering smash brothers a tournament fighter (its a party game for those of you who don't know).
Now on that note: This post was made at 3:30 am after 2 days of no sleep and 5 red bulls, I'm really sick of people trying to bash my opinions, because thats all that they are Opinions. If yours is different fine and dandy voice it however don't attack me for having a different one, we don't need flame wars in this community and I'm sick of people trying to start them with me. I rarely ever comment about a person directly if I have something to say and I never insult the integrity of their opinion, or attack them with insults as you have done me. My opinion is just as valid as yours and you have no right to judge me, I am a member of the TGA community I have given a lot to them, I deserve just as much respect as everyone else, and that goes to everyone who thinks they can walk on me.

1) please dont knock on kof
2) Please dont call someone a scrub just because he doesnt like the charaters he is entitled to his own opinion.
3) I would say more but it wouldn't be fair not to knock sliver.

shit
Don't get mad because im calling you out for bashing a game over something irreverent to gameplay. Gumby vs Capcom? if its good id play it. Obviously the meaning of a good game means something else to you. Why don't i tell Andy not to get Blazblue because of the ridiculous cast it has? Never seen those characters in my life (OMFG WHERES SOL?). I highly doubt you would agree with me but thats what you're doing.
You can post your opinions here all you want, its a free country, but if you come here and put down the game a made the effort of making a thread for im simply not going to take it lightly. Sorry that i don't agree with your point of view. Anybody else would of got the same response so stop taking it so personal. Sure your opinion is good as mines but that doesn't mean both are right and im willing to bet the majority of players would agree with me.

I play KOF but lets get serious here. How many people play it around here?
and show me where i call him a scrub and tell him hes not entitled to his own opinion. I suggest people read more carefully.

Andy sorry to come and flame this idiot but he had it coming...I def think this game is gonna be good we need new blood for the VS games and this is just the thing to do it.

You know what TGA needs?
DOA 5 ver. B.
But really, everyone has their own opinions about the game. What it all comes down to is gameplay and the potential the metagame has. Try out the game first before dissing it. That's like someone dissing out the Dark Knight Trailer because they didn't like the Bat Mobile design.

I personally think both games look hype, I'd prefer TvC though. always been a huge fan of the Vs series (sans MvC2, it just didnt click with me, I guess), I personally think Andy should get Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, but thats just me.

I think the problem that the general American audience is having with this crossover is that they don't know what Tatsunoko is.
Most senior game developers in Japan are now in their 30's and 40's, which means they grew up with the Tatsunoko characters. Tatsunoko is to them, what Marvel or DC is to an American in his 30's and 40's.
Tatsunoko anime was shown in Japan in the 70's and 80's at 5:00pm, this was done to give the kids something to do after homework and before dinner, so the housewives could cook and manage the house in peace. It was also shown on early Saturday and Sunday mornings, just like our cartoons growing up. So naturally kids became familiar with them.
Ok, so maybe this is more in depth than people need or want to know, I guess my point is that to the average American gamer, this combination makes no sense. The "Cross generation of heroes" theme makes sense when looked at in this context. The original 12 of Street Fighter are legendary, almost everyone knows who Ryu, Ken and Chun are, especially the people in their 30's who watched the Anime as kids and played SF regularly at their local game centers. So to the Japanese this could be considered the "Ultimate" battle and crossover. This is why I think Marvel is so appealing in the US, because for Americans, Street Fighter and Marvel work perfectly.
I am assuming with a license this big, they cannot fail and must make this game solid. It's no secret that finances had a big part in getting "4" to finally make an appearance, and I would be kidding myself if I didn't consider that this crossover is intended to generate revenue. Capcom as a business has to think about money so I respect that, although some may argue the motives and motivation to make the new generation of Capcom fighters is not entirely "pure" I for one, don't care and am beside myself with joy that Capcom is FINALLY returning to the arcade scene.
So I understand Silver's points about the characters being unknowns, money being a motivation and appreciate his fears this could turn into a Mugen-esque game, because he is a HUGE Capcom fan and because I know him personally, so again, I understand his point of view.
I think it will be sold, fun and balanced. Capcom has a good track record with the VS series. To be completely honest, yes I am a little taken back by "only three attack buttons (plus the partner call out button)." But I'm sure they will make it work. I have faith in Capcom. It will take some getting used to, but no biggie. I'm excited about this game as a gamer, I'm not excited as the manager of TGA because it will be tough financially, but it will be worth every penny. I'm really looking forward to this and am DYING TO PLAY IT!!! So expect to see it at TGA.
I have the huge respect for the Guilty Gear series even if I don't play it, I WANT to play it, I want to learn it, I just never had time, I unfortunately dedicated most of my time to Capcom, just because I'm weird like that. BUT I do understand how huge Guilty is I respect the game and the series so I will go my best to get Blazblue as well.
I love KOF but sadly nobody plays it, I'm considering getting HNK for the fighting game room just for fun for a little while, with out new cabinets, I can be more creative with our lineup, so it won't hurt to mix things up a little.
I appreciate everyone taking the time to be passionate and be excited about
the new fighters, I'm also glad that everyone was able to resolve things peacefully, so let's put that energy into generating some funds for the fighters :P
My other suggestion is play Pop'n Music at TGA, there is plenty of Tatsunoko musical goodness in the Anime folder, that should help get people ready.
Thanks everyone!

So this random asshole.
I've been going to TGA for over a year and have already contributed close to 2000$ to this community, who are you to speak I've never even heard of you.

I'm looking forward to both Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Blazblue. I have trouble keeping track of multiple games and characters hence I only play Guilty Gear competitively right now, but I'm gonna try to learn both of these games because they look very fun and they'll be easier to get into since they're new. I hope they and street fighter 4 turn out to be balanced games.

This is a thread for TvC, not TGA seniority. If people people want to brag about how many times they've been to TGA and donated GTFO and make another thread instead of trying to convince people how much more special than them. I dont judge people over the time and money people spend at TGA.
Im done here for now, this thread is ridiculous. How about some real TvC talk?

Actually, I worked for TGA for 2 years and was a regular before that (can't make it up too often due to gas prices/work schedule/saving money to move next month.) Also, not much of a fighting game player anymore, so I really don't attend the ranbats. SF4/TvC/an HnK cab might be getting me back into it though. TOKI = BROKIE.

Ok, well here's an attempt to throw something positive into this thread..lol
I spent the better part of 4 hours yesterday overhauling the Super Turbo machine. Both control panels for both cabinets will now be center Six button layouts (as opposed to the offset sticks left side stick for 1p and right for 2p).
The two cabinets that are sitting idle will have their monitors replaced with LCD flatscreens for the new fighters.
This is a project I've been trying to get to for the past year, I am here at the store today finishing it up .So ST should be sexy for the ranbats..
That is all.
For more randomness....I'm seriously thinking about the new MB...
