Hey folks, I have a lot of information to pass on, so pull up a chair and get comfortable chair:

SURPRISE #1!!
Drummania 9

A while back I had promised that we would have a DM machine by the end of summer. Well, I have a big surprise for everyone. My prayers have paid off, for Tokyo Game Action is now the proud owner of the ASIAN (not Korean) version of Percussion Freaks 9. The Asian PF9 which we are getting is the EXACT same thing as the Japanese version of Drummania 9. All the songs, vocals, hidden songs, options, you name are all there. As always it’ll be only $10 to play PF9 all day. So there you go my gift to you for a year of continued support and friendship.

Because of the addition of the new machine, the $20 flat rate will be raised to $25.

EDIT:
TGA Forum members will get discounts based on their rank on the forums! Lite members will receive $1, standard members get $2 off, and so on! So if you are not a member, now is a great time to sign up. :p And being active will save you a lot more money in the end!

SURPRISE #2!!
Working IIDX Videos!

TGA presents “choose your own video! Our Beatmania IIDX 7 machine now has videos! In true TGA fashion, we couldn’t leave the machine alone and had to turn it into a freak of nature. What’s cool about our set up is that you can choose which video you want to play for each song.. Playing VJ army and want to see the video for Cheer Train? No problem, just cue up the Cheer train video and enjoy!! Here’s how this crazy setup works:

On the machine is a remote control and a video list. During the song confirmation screen, enter the video number you want to play during that song. The list is posted on the machine. If this is too much work, you can just Give Clay the remote and he will put random IIDX video footage up for you and pause it during moments that offer "creative interpretation” I won’t go into detail, but a combination of Clay, a remote control and that poor girl in the Last Message video has given new meaning to the word "exploitation."

Super Smash Brother’s Melee Tournament Information.

Because of the recent purchase of PF 9, I am going to have to go with my original plan of the $15 for the entry fee, flat rate and the tournament. 100% of the proceeds (minus prizes) will go to pay back the June rent money which was used in paying for the machine.

One Year Anniversary

The PF9 machine will be up and running just in time for the one year anniversary! It was an absolute nightmare trying to make this happen; but I wanted everyone to have this as a 1 year anniversary thank you gift. I decided not to raise the admission to the anniversary weekend, in the hopes that attendance will compensate for the lower admission rates.

The following is a list of entry fees for the one year anniversary weekend:

$25 pays the flat rate, and entry into one event.

Admission for people not participating in the tournament is the normal flat rate of $20.

Everyone who pays admission gets, in addition to unlimited games of DDR, DMX, SVC, IIDX, PF9, console games, a free TGA T-shirt and FREE PIZZA!!

Because of past events, including theft and vandalism, there will be no exceptions to the $20/$25 entry fees during the anniversary weekend. Doors will open at 11:00 AM and will close at midnight the following morning.

I am very excited about this new addition to the TGA family. I will post more information as soon as I receive it.

Oh, and as for the PF5 Korean, I think 2 Bemani Drum games would be better than one, but that’s an option I will have to think about and will be dictated by the reception of PF9. Oh, did I mention that I paid extra to have the PF9 with session mode capability...can anyone say GF10?

Thanks everyone!

~ Andy

I like drum games.

How the heck did you rig up that video thing? Or maybe I'll just ask in person, if the explanation is too long.

I kinda wondered why no one has tried that before with a IIDX machine. I guess you can not trust your average clientele in an arcade with a DVD remove. I am just curious how one plans to synch the video with the song. (Someone has to just frame the startup? Oh boy.)

The news about the new DM^H^HPF machine is nice, though. Balls to the fact that the SSBM tournament fees went up, but I am not going to argue against it at all.

You still need to get that IIDX upgrade, though. :p

I will be happy to purchase the IIDX upgrade, I am on 4 waiting lists for both a 9th and 10th style upgrade. If anyone has any leads or information on where I can purchase one please let me know. Just keep in mind it took over 6 months to get PF9.

Clever idea with the standard DVD player! I can't believe no one thought of that sooner. I'm looking foward to being able to control the videos! :D

And Last Message? No, Glorious Days! Theres no cleavage but Noria >>>>>> Meg!

*imagines the Glorious Days video with the Max 300 and Solid Gold overlays* :mouse:

OH! We get to see Presto's new video in 7th style finally! Yay!

And I'm looking forwards to adding DM to my list of Bemani games that I'm proficient at. :gator: Yay TGA!

In case anyone is wondering.......

PF/DM9 songlist (http://www.konami.co.jp/am/gfdm/gf10dm9/level/index.html)

Hey Andy, just a question:

Do you know anyone in Japan (or any connections) that would be willing to import you some e-amuse (aka: eeMall) cards so we can unlock the rest of the songs? There are no unlock codes for this DM mix - you MUST use the cards. Think of it as Konami finding new ways to make money.

What's wierd is there are some eeMall songs that USED to be non-eeMall songs in earlier mixes. Like Heave is a 57, Cosmic Cowgirl, I'm Gonna Get You, etc. Such great songs now have to be unlocked with cards you have to pay for. lame.
