I still want a Soul Calibur II machine. I would play that thing religiously. I already do at my theater

I vote NO and the main reason is.
TGA is too small. Where the hell would it go. Heres a suggestion not to sound negative or anything, but maybe get more renting space? Theres a bunch of those rooms liek you guys have in the building, any others you can get.
Plus, let them get out of debt before they get deeper into it.
Finally, Soul Calibur II has been out for over two years now and died in popularity strongly. That machine will be lucky if it makes back its money.

You have a point Billy, but there is no more space in that building that would make sense to acquire, because it wouldn't be connected to the main part of the store, which could create a whole slew of problems.

Whe had our quarrel about this already. From one businessman to a not-so-one, it's inevitable that TGA will be in the red until at least after one year in business, there is no possible way to do it otherwise and still stay competitive. Andy should have also stated in his business plan when he was planning to get in the black anyway.

I agree with that completely, it's not a matter of likes, it's a subject of making money and which machines are popular enough to make more money. People could pay $5 and play SCII all day on their consoles, why would they want to pay 50 cents for the arcade version?

It was just an idea. you didn't have to butcher it. Futher more SVC barely makes any money but we have that. Also the Drummania machine I think would cost more and take up more space that SCII.

I don't think their goal was to make you feel bad about the idea.
Billy just put out some points, Bryan expounded on them.
The idea was valid to a point, those reasons are the points why it wouldn't be valid.
s'all good. =)

No I full fledged intended my post to bash his idea for the sake.
Anyways, the SvC machine was not a very good idea to me at all. At first it was like "Wow cool, theres only one other in NE and thats at GT."
*After playing for a day at GT*
Wow this game sucks. Some characters are way over powered.
I honestly felt that Andy's idea was in good intention but it back fired as for the fact he ordered it before people had gotten an opinion of the game yet. Now possibly a guilty gear XX machine, that would have been better ^^

I think any fighters that have been introduced to the store in their console form would not work in an arcade cabinet. Since people know it's out on console, again, they'll be less likely to play the arcade version if they can pay $5 to play the console version for an unlimited period of time.

Not true at all, although this is what you think, yet kids who own GGXX still gather to play in the arcade. Its all about finding competition!

Well, that's very true. But when you look at those arcades, you don't necessarily have the choice to bring your console to the arcade to play. I guess I kind of mixed up the TGA way of doing things with a more general remark about arcades. But specifically with TGA, I think that people would be more likely to have somebody bring in a console, spot the $5, and then challenge people in it.

SCII machine is probably not a good idea at this point. Mostly because of the issues outlined above. (Well...I s'pose if you could find one for REAL CHEAP, it's at least worth considering) But the main thing I have with it is...the console versions are better, in this case! Most hardcore SCII tournies are held on console because they fixed some of the things from version D in the arcade.
I don't think it's inherently bad to have a fighting game cabinet at TGA, even if that's not really the main audience. I will agree with Billy that SvC probably wasn't the best idea, though. The game just isn't that good, and since they got it right when it came out, it probably cost a whole bunch. I still much prefer playing arcade fighting games if there is competition, just like I much prefer playing arcade DDR. But if we just have consoles and sticks, then that's cool too.

I have to say, I like the cabinet more... because it has Conquest Mode....
Which... btw...
/me hearts.
That's just me however. I also prefer the feeling of standing in front of a cabinet and playing on the arcade style sticks (as long as the horizontal attack button WORKS!
/me sighs about Ryan's of Newports buttons... )
AAANNYhoo... there's my input

I stopped playing Conquest once I realized it gives you really bad habits when you're playing against real people. The computer is stupid. ;_;
You can just get a stick for console. I have one. Woo!

Well... I Don't play people often enough, and I play it for fun really. I like Conquest mode cause it's ... I dunno, what I do has an effect... to a point.
I dunno, I guess I'm also a sucker for "Leveling" up, what can I say?

Leveling up is fun. I used to play conquest mode a lot, but I stopped playing SC2 because... well, I dunno...
