Anyone here a big D+D fan? I'll be quitting my group soon because... frankly... I hate them.

But I really like hearing D+D tales... so umm... share your D+D successes or failures... or tell me how much you hate it and I will laugh at you. :D

WEll, there was the first time I ever got a Wand of Wonder, I had no idea what it was, just a stick with a button on it, so I promptly went into the woods with a friend, pointed it at a tree, pressed the button...

somethin like a 20th level caster exploding fireball rocketed out...

So, bein a chaotic neutral character, I turned, pointed it at my friend, and pressed the button again, to see if it was a rod of exploding fireballs.

to my enjoyment, it made a 15 foot high, 10 foot think, 100 foot long wall of ice between me and my friend =D

I had SO much fun with that thing...

I'm currently playing a 3E character, an Ogre Mage Paladin, his mount is a Griffin. Anyone else have any ridiculous characters? the most ludicrously twinked one i ever made was a half celestial Vampire. He was an NPC though, so no apologies necessary ^_^. God I love the new monster races and/or templates.

My favorite story is how... in my first adventure with some friends... we went into a mine and got our asses kicked by a goddamn pit trap. Except... everyone but me fell in the hole and a number of us died. It took us 2 real life hours to get out of the damn hole. ARG!

I can't stand Half Vampires, they make no sense...

Like my Character who's life goal is to kill undead, has a class BUILT BY ME AND THE DM TO DO SO, is a high level cleric, and a near artifact sword MADE FOR KILLING UNDEAD...

Yet he continues to miss, and critical miss with damn near EVERY SWING OF HIS WEAPON!

I dont play much in the way of DnD.. But i play LOTS of World of Darkness (aka Werewolf, Vampire, Mage ect)

I have a great story about Ghenna for Vampire...


Playing as a 15th generation Caitiff (the lowest possible rank for a vampire as well as clanless) I was able to diablarize Theo Bell (8th generation Bruja elder) because another player forced me into a blood bond..

After this.. My comrad and i ended up under the city of Chicago (where Cain was to be killed apperantly) fighting these giant white bug things, no matter what i did to it, the thing didnt even flinch. Until i punched through its outer shell and it decided to swat me with its antannae... this did 17 damage (average life amount is 7 or 9.. i cant remember which X_X) Either way.. it wasnt pretty.

After surviving that somehow.. i ended up in the house of Lasombra (Antideluvian to Clan Lasombra; hey.. go figure X_X)

At which point, another one of the players decided that me and my comrad needed to die. they spent all of their resources on explosives and blew up the house.. and Lasombra with it. This broke the blood bond my comrad had on me thus letting me have free will.

At the spot where Lasombra died, a dimensional rift opened up and Wraiths started comming out.. not a fun thing to see, i assure you. The two of us decided to get a car full of Propane tanks from a near-by gas station and blow up that rift. In the process of loading the tanks into the car we "barrowed" from a "willing" citizen, a sniper decided he was going to kill us by shooting the propane tanks and causing an explosion. This nearly worked, i was thrown into a building which was a good distance away. Once i was alert enough to move, i quickly ran to the building where the sniper shot from and proceded to climb up using Celerity (extreme speed) Before the sniper knew what hit him, i was in his face with a gun and firing. Unfortunately, i missed and he was able to spin kick me off the 5 story building, at which point i blacked out.

unconcious, i was unable to stand up to the man as he decapitated me, thus ending my gaming seccion.. or so i thought.


After a bit of story of the other players, they found themselves in the Black Tower (now known as the Sears Tower due to Cain's arrival and the reverting of time to the First Age). The other 3 players were forced to lay into coffins which would identify them as important people. They all survive and stepped out unharmed, from the fourth coffin, my character stepped out dazed and confused.

after looking around the room, i decided i would follow the group of people heading up the long spiral stairway. We got to the top only to find Lillith waiting for Cain to arrive so she could finally kill him after thousands of years in planning. Once Cain arrived, hundreds of Vampires attempted to kill him, only to be splattered by the Mark of Fire (any vampire to do anything to Cain would have that done back to them 7 fold). After watching all of this, my character started to freak out and tried a drastic move. He used Celerity to get a good running start with a tapestry to glide out of the tower window and to the ground safely. i failed the rolls on these... As he jumped out the window, the Tapestry ripped causing my character to fall to his death.. err.. second death.


yay, end of story...

i bet none of you can beat having your character die twice :gator:

My character in life was an undergroudn fighter named Timojin, brash crude tough as nails and quick as hell man, had a punk rock girlfriend, he loved his life

till one night he gets hit by a mack truck while having a shouting match with some dude.

He wakes up and heasr crying, and MAN does he have a horrible headache, so he looks over and see's his girl leaning over this shape on the ground, walks up, askes what's wrong, and then notices, its HIS body, he gets all confused, she FREAKS out, and runs off... he doesnt know why.

Long story short, he's a Wraith, and my Story teller made Timojins girl a medium, so she can see and talk to him, after watching him get plastered by a 4 ton truck.

MAN that was silly.

hah, that does sound silly

makes me think back to when i was playing some Exaulted...


Wyld mutations letting me secrete natural poisons from my skin... leaping onto an abyssal into a fire and secreting methane to cause a massive exlosion consuming myself and the abyssal...


but to make a long story short, my character blew himself up to kill a Dreadlord just to find out they are immortal and become an Abyssal himself... then end up getting killed in a firefight with essence cannons X____X
