Ok folks, here's the deal.

I am having an extremely difficult time finding a DM machine, but as luck would have it, I have a very rare opportunity to purchase a Percussion Freaks 5th. As seen below the song list is pretty amazing. The only problem is that THE JAPANESE SONGS DO NOT HAVE THE LYRICS. The good news is that this PF machine is A LOT cheaper than the DM 5th mix.

So here's my plan. Although I am VERY VERY Disappointed that this is not the "TRUE" DM5th and not the JAPANESE version, I think I should get the machine anyway, here's why. Without the lyrics the game is stil AWESOME and fun. I think the machine will attract a lot of new customers to the store and will help bring in some extra fundage.

Also I STILL INTEND ON GETTING THE "REAL" DRUMMANIA WHEN IT BECOMES AVAILABLE. If you think about it, PF5th is better than Drum mania zero which we have now. I will upgrade the DM to 10th and we will have two machines with completely different song lists. So how can we go wrong. Plus the non japanese songs (not very many, I know) have lyrics AND if I upgrade to a higher version of PF the lyrics will be included, the newer vesions of PF are almost identical to the Japanese versions.

So what do you think? Will you play it if I get the machine? Seriously, think about it: For $20 dollars you can play, DDR, DMX, SVC, BTMIIDX, AND PF. ALSO, do you think it will really be that hard to find 3 songs you like in the 100+ song list? Just post "Don't buy it" or "Go for it" I need to know by midnight tonight, as the seller is waiting for an answer.

I had promised you DM for the summer but unfortunately, DM is IMPOSSIBLE to find. I have been looking since December. EVERY single contact I have has told me it's a lost hope, at least for now. I really want you guys to be happy and I REALLY think you will enjoy this.

Oh and in other news, the savings on this machine pays for the IIDX 10th style upgrade which I am getting a price quote on right now. Just pray it's the upgrade from 7th to 10th and not 9th to 10th.

Thanks guys

Devil Warrior, was that an Evilzone reference, or some other, more obvious one that I'm being too much of a geek to see in front of my face? ^_^

Oh, and definitely "go for it". the songs still have drumbeats, thats all you need. Especially with an impressive song list like that.

I wanna play it! I've never played any of the Drum-based Bemani games. So... once I finally get to go DOWN there and visit you people... MOST DEF!

Er, if I played the game more than once, I wouldn't want to keep playing the same three songs ... :)

If you are optimistic and enthusiastic about getting a new game, you're obviously going to get 99% positive responses.

As long as you're set financially, have the space for it, and have a workable plan to take care of the ventilation/sanitary problems that may arrive in the sweaty summer, then feel free to do what you want with your money. ;P

Yes, let's not be kids in a candy store, let's all calm down and think about this after the excitement dust settles. :)

Gona agree wtih JA. If we have the other issues taken care of, I think it would be a superb idea to go for it. It would be something new for me to try out (when I FINNALLY get a job and get money again, I know, I know, I'm lazy, so sue me)

Aside from rockin out with the DDR and DMX. 'sides, I've always wanted to try out drums, and i tap and rap my fingers on everything to the beat of the songs anyway, would give me a new way to work it out =D

Awesome, just let's cover all our bases first I would say =D

Man, I'm looking for an <lj-cut> because that songlist is so long to scroll through on the front page... shows you how much I've been paying attention to things lately.

Nobody can get enough Bemani. And I'm sure I'd play it.
Did I ask you to go for it?

i said i dunno cuz well...i don't know! i hope it gets you the response you want. ^^; i don't think i've ever seen a percussion freaks machine, and i haven't played it for sure...so i have no opinion of it. but it seems people are into the idea, so i hope they show their support!

The one you played at GT was a Percussion Freaks machine, just with a Drummania banner. :)

haha! go figure! is it bootleg or something? hm...i just thought it was all different because they switched to a different mix or something. well, it doesn't seem that different from dummania, then.

Yeah, all the songs are there, it's just in English... just like how Taiko no Tatsujin is Taiko Drum Master in the states or anywhere other than Japan.

I believe Percussion Freaks is the Korean version, actually. Like Dance Freaks vs Dance Maniax. But yeah, GT has Percussion Freaks 8.

I still don't think asking the customers is always the best way to go, unless you're leaning strongly toward "yes" which I think you are, anyway. :) On the plus side, I'd probably play it more than any other game there. But yeah, just make sure you've got everything else settled first.
