View Full Version : TGA's Person of the Week - 05.23.04

This is a new thread I am going to start. Every week I am going to nominate a new person as "Person of the week" So why am I doing this?

As the risk of sounding like Mr. Rodgers, I believe that everyone is entitled to some praise, and recognition. I want everyone here to know that being yourself is ok and it’s being yourself that makes you unique and why we like you. Everyone here brings something special to TGA and I want to applaud that.

Everyone has bad days once and a while, and it’s nice to know that someone’s got your back and appreciates you.

I know that 100 percent of the people are not going to get along 100 percent of the time, but even if we are having differences with someone, it wouldn’t hurt to say something nice about someone in the thread if it’s their turn as person of the week, and let them know that we love em!

What I am looking for on this thread is for other members to post what they like about that person along with what makes them unique, and maybe your favorite memory such as a funny story or something.

What I won’t tolerate is negative posting on this thread, there are a million other threads and means to trash talk someone, this thread will not be the place to do it. I will edit out any negative comments. You can post them somewhere else, but not on this thread.

The person being chosen will be drawn at random out of a hat, this way the order of nominations cannot be misconstrued as me liking someone more than someone else or something silly like that.

Oh one more thing, the person of the week, gets to come to the store and play for free one day out of that week during a weekday (m-f), just as my way of saying thank you.

So without further ado, the person of the week is:
CLAY

Since the day I met Clay, I have been laughing until it hurts. If I am having a bad day, I can count on Clay putting a smile on my face and helping me forget all about my problems by the end of the day.

The first memories I have of Clay was when he bought his IIDX controller from us at the Heritage. I just remember him being extremely excited that his IIDX turntable was super loose and "Spinning like the &*$% price is right wheel."

I could choose a million funny things that Clay has done to make me laugh. Sometimes when I am driving around at work, a random clay moment pops into my head and I start laughing. For some reason, Clay doing his "Grover, breakdown dance" wearing the boss hat and "Jason" mask
is one of my favorites.

Although Clay is very funny, he is very intelligent and intellectual at the same time. He has a natural gift for electronics and building controllers. I can still remember when I first saw his homemade arcade stick at the Heritage. Also, if it wasn’t for Clay’s help, the new DDR sensors would never have been installed.

Clay is also very skilled and a natural at every video game he touches. I remember when he got Gitaroo Man; he had beaten it on expert within a day.

Clay has been an avid supporter of TGA from day one, Clay thank you for everything you have done for me not only for TGA, but on a personal level. Starting next Monday, pick a day between Monday and Friday to come down and play for fee as my way of saying thank you.

Well folks, it’s your turn... fill us in on some random Clay goodness:

I concur on every point to the center of laughter that is Clayton.

Since I'm a bit too tired and lazy right now to write out alot of stuff, I'll sum up Clay in a word, and that word is:

YEAH!! *insert picture of ORANGE WHALE here*

Clay, you rock. word.

EDIT:

Clay is at work right now so he doesn't know about this yet. Me and Freddy will probably surprise him by picking him up at work and going to TGA so he can reap the benefits of being man of the week ^__^

my personal favorite clay memory might be Bryan's as well. He, Clay, myself, and possible some other folks were sitting near the SVC machine, Bryan clutching his taiko plushie. Clay ends up going off on some wild tangent about Bryan's "motivation" in this scene, something about escaping from Russia. Bryan ended up turning some weird asian pink color. I was in tears. And to think Clay could do all this without laughing. GO CLAY FOR BEING ALIVE!

Wow, I have so many memories of Clay, everything from the memory Abe just said, to the K-Rev games, to the MOBILE FIGHTER G-GUNDAM! "READY GO!!" days. He's really been able to pull the crazy kid inside this 21-year-old, and I'm grateful. Singing the G-Gundam intro at the top of my lungs and "making" and even trying to take the kid down are all fond memories of mine.

He's my bud, and this is well deserved. :)

Anywhoo, thanks guys, it's always good to know people get a kick out of my rampant insanity, and it's especially good when I can take in a bit of a profit out of it :D When I will be along to recieve my prize, I have no idea, but I will be, and it'll be on like Gary Coleman's pee, you can count on that. SANKYUU FOR DO!

I was struggling with Clay to play Heavy songs. And pass them. Yes, that's right. There was a time when neither of us could pass HEAVY SONGS.
And you know what? It was before they were Heavy; it was still Maniac!

Btw, Clay is king of my girlfriend's high school. Every funny thing we know of that he does...is performed in that school. Including 'EYYYYY GUYS. CANADIANS are doing it, since they caught it being done at some band shindig my girlfriend was attending.

All hail the King of Canada.

P.S. Clay is one crazy ass funny mofo.

my favorite moments were him playing Kareoke revolution and seeng him at the mall then juggs almost getting beat up trying to make a friend. Also who can forget the Gary Coleman impressions?

We really need to rent Gary Coleman for TGA. That would be hawt. Is it really true you can rent Gary Coleman for the day for $500? :guin:

Clay is pretty cool. He reccomended all the mods I have on my ps2 at home (the flip-top one is great! pissed off my mom, but great!) I remember when I first met him, he came off as a matrix-freak (you know the black coat that he sometimes wears) so I shyed away.(matrix people are potentially dangerous.) I then talked to him about me being the self proclaimed King of Light mode, and him being king of the machine. It was cool.

I demand cheaper gas so I can go to TGA more often. And maybe a free pet midget or something, that'd be good incentive. I think amount of money donated based on distance from TGA, I'm up there. I DESERVE a midget.

Got Turkey?

I actually have a picture of him, with Midnite playing DMX. I think this was when the tourney was going on. This was one of the originals they had.
