Yeah, remember how Nintendo shot down rumors of a new design for the DS? THEY LIED!!! (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/index.html) You can preorder one through Play-Asia (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-9h-49-en-70-17a2.html). They new DS, called the DS LITE, will be available as of March 2nd, or so Nintendo's website says. More specs on the PA page =P

On topic: I may buy a DS Lite once it's released stateside, though I'm not a fan of the GBA cart sticking out of the unit like it's going to. Disclaimer: I love Ouendan to death.

On another note, OENDAN is being brought to the states, although completely altered. The game will be called ELITE BEAT AGENTS, and will keep the games style and gameplay, but with all new stories, music, etc. Personally, I want it.

DS's are NOT region coded. Simply buy an American DS and get imports.

my god, why does nintendo do this to us all the time? They release a console, and then 2-4 years later, they make a "model 2" that's better that the original, meaning I gots to shell out another 70-90 dollars. Youre lucky I have a deep wallet, nintendo!

this is a pretty old thread, but yeah, i picked up a DS Lite today actually. its really awesome. i mean yeah, its basically the same thing as the regular DS, but it looks better. its not huge and bulky anymore. the stylus is bigger (WOO), it comes with a game boy advance type cartridge that keeps dust out of the gameboy advance slot. the screens are brighter, the colors are more vibrant and all the good stuff. its pretty much worth buying, but if you have big hands lol, you pretty much will be disapointed. other than that, i recommend it, definetly worth buying.
