PSP owners, rejoice! Bought a PSP at release, with no games to play aside from maybe Lumines? Wondering when you may get something worthwhile? Well, aside from the two 'new' Megaman games on the horizon, people willing to import have something major to look forward to!
Some of you may be familiar with the game by Korean company Pentavision. It is the Korean equivalent to IIDX, programmed for home use on a capable PC. However, Pentavision has decided to go portable with its game, and release DJ Max Portable. Now, some of you may be thinking to yourselves "IIDX, on a PSP? How does THAT work?" DJ Max Portable has a number of different play modes -- control wise -- that accomadates accordingly. Easy, which has you using the 4 face buttons; Difficult (I could be wrong on the exact names, please forgive me) using 6 buttons--Left, Up, and Right on the D-Pad, and [], /_\, and O. And Expert, which throws the shoulder buttons into the mix. This game also features freezes, which have not been seen in IIDX.
It boasts an impressive 57 song songlist, which are all included in a soundtrack mode that is right on the UMD. The game also has a Move Clip mode, which allows you to view the songs' movies without the challenge of playing the songs. If you order the prestige box set, you also get the OST on a 2 CD set.
A trailer for this game can be found here (http://www.youtube.com/w/DJ-Max-Portable-PSP?v=C0h6hCaaRwg&search=dj%20max%20portable), and is currently available for order at http://www.play-asia.com.
Any thoughts/input?
(FINALLY, doing something resembling news work!)
