Want to do a puzzle tourney
Think Intelligent Qube, Tetris Worlds, Bombastic (Several modes), Tetris Attack and such
Any takers? I do need a copy of IQ, but I have the rest...

K... Puzzle tourney has been severely thought out...
I'm thinking we have a month long tourney slash fundraiser.
The games would be Tetris, Bombastic (ps2) and IQ (ps1).
$5 dollar entry fee, which enables one play of each puzzle game at fixed settings. A high score would be on display at TGA. At the end of the month, the top two from each with two wild card spots have a ladder tourney of all three games on versus settings.
However, if you see you have been bumped down from the top you can pay $2 for another attempt at a single game. Hopefully, there will be some mini-competitions to get into the main tourney, thus increasing the pot.
Pot division would be 40% for TGA, the 30, 20 and 10% for 1st through third.
Comments?
I have the minor details sketched out, but I figured I'd just start with a general description for now

How are the wild cards decided? Just ranks 3 and 4?
And is a ladder tourny something I've never heard of, or is it just brackets?
I like the way the pre-competition is set up, though. Perhaps there could be a score penalty for a replay? Maybe replay scores could be chopped to 80/90 percent, to give the initial play more weight.

I'm not even sure what Bombastic and IQ are, since I don't have a PS. But when I think of popular puzzle games aside from Tetris, I think Puyo Puyo, Puzzle Fighter, and Bust A Move/Puzzle Bobble. Any representation for those?

There should be special Dan vs. Dan exhibition round for Puzzle Fighter.

Wildcards are the third place scores of each game. Those three face off against each other in 3 point matches, and not in the games they won ie the tetris person would face off in Bombastic and IQ against the IQ and Bombastic people respectively. 3 rounds per game, each win worth one point, top two point scores get the wild cards.
Yes, I meant brackets...

As for the other puzzle games, I dont see why not, especially Puzzle Fighter...
Perhaps we could just have top two from all four for an eight bracket final...
Thing is I was thinking with 8 people, that would 3 teirs, on game per teir in the bracket tourney...
Then again, we could just take top four from each game. However, that would allow a lot more people in, lowering the qualifying difficulty, which I want as that will inspire replays, and in turn a larger pot for the winner and for TGA

Shouldn't this be about fun?
Four to eight brackets makes the actual tournament aspect more appealing. And it gets more ACTUAL competition.
