View Full Version : Game relocation?

Has Andy and company ever considered feeding the some of the bemani machines such as popn and taiko into the backroom? I understand the idea of having the games separated by fighters and bemani but the bemani room's machines are in such close proximity that the sound bleed turns into an utter cacophony of sorts. This is exacerbated even more when popn and iidx (which I consider to be two of TGA's three big bemani attractions) are within 7 feet of, and facing, each other. Now I enjoyed popn 12 very much but I knew the experience could have been greatly enhanced had I been able to actually hear songs I like playing and even more so since when you can hear the music, you tend to perform better and that's also a mood-booster. Another reason being that with all those bemani machines in the same room, the flow of human traffic is like syrup trying to climb a playground slide and people sometimes get bumped into when playing or walking near a game and that can also attribute to hindering gameplay. Pop'n, Taiko, DMX, and GF all risk this type of situation. While I hope such a thing as moving the games does occur, even just a couple of the reasons behind the logic in the current machine layout would also leave me feeling content and satisfied.

Me, Fred, Andy, and Anthony has a huge convo two days ago that addressed that, and alot of other issues. In the near future, it won't be a problem anymore.

There has been much talk of aquiring the empty store behind TGA and expanding...I was just hoping that its gonna happen soon.
Andy: If it is gonna happen, let me know...I'll come down and help out with the move if at all possible.

I never had a problem with the sound, but I will definitely agree that trying to get around in there with lots of people = harder than chinese algebra.
Also, what is with the hole in the floor in front of GF V, lol

My friend complained that while playing DDR, all he heard was the annoying hum of the Taiko drums singing XD. I get in a zone when I play any game... so I had no issue. But I have found when I'm not paying much attention to games, just playing for fun out of the 'zone' of my game face... I hear a bunch of the other games XD. Woah, why is there a penguin emoticon. :guin:

Yeah I zone out to into a game when I play it. But Andy also told me about the plans when I went to TGA last Saturday. So not to fear and be patient. For now the setup is okay. Could be worse. We could play IIDX, DDR, Taiko, Popn, DMX, GF, DM, and PF all in th bathroom. Think about it. ;)

Actually, that sounds pretty hot.

XD Don't give us any bright ideas. Instead of magazines we can play pop'n while using the bathroom. Oh boy. Things will change. It's a lot of work and dedication. Once the heads and the dinero and that drunk landlord are put together and decide to work, then we will see some changes.

Just as a general note so everyone knows, I understand noise issues and TGA will expand, however folks we have to go one step at a time.
I only have limited funds and I'm doing my best to work with the money we have. For example if you had to choose between a Popn' 12 machine or more space, which would you have picked? If you had to pick between a IIDX upgrade kit and more space which would you pick. Everyone demanded upgrade kits so I got them.
Again judging by the 30 pm's and the dozens upon dozens of personal questions I get asking when a "certain" upgrade kit is coming in I think the answer is clear.
Let's look at it from yet another prospective: Compared to Japan, TGA has fooball fields between their Bemani machines.
Of course certain people are going to challenge me, as they do with everything I say so let me put it this way and qualify my statements:
As a general rule, Japanese game centers are limited in space and machines are put right next to each other, thus the reason candy cabs are so small. Real Estate in Japan is a luxury, so everything is smaller.
During my 6 visits to japan, I have seen this PERSONALLY with my own eyes in:
Ikebukuro (5 game centers)
Shinjuku (2 game centers)
Akihabara (3 game centers)
Yokohama (5 game centers)
Kamioooka (2 game centers)
Chiba (various parts of Chiba) (6 game centers)
Shinbashi (2 game centers)
Ueno (3 game centers)
Roppongi (2 game centers)
Ebisu (2 game centers)
Shibuya (3 game centers)
Shinagawa (2 game centers)
Odaiba (2 game centers)
So unless someone here has been to more Japanese game centers, I would be careful to point out how the Bemani setup is not correct.
Again, TGA WILL be expanding so be patient, TGA has never stopped growing and it never will (God willing). 99% of people don't have a problem and support me,and I appreciate it, that's why I bend over backwards to make TGA the best. However, there will always be people who will never believe what I say and be critical of whatever I do for no other reason than to argue with me or insult TGA. To them I say, go through that list above, when you've been to those places in Japan, come talk to me (In Japanese or English your choice, becasue certain people don't want to belive I speak Japanese).
But no worries, if you don't belive me ask Chie this weekend.
To my other members. Thanks again for the support, TGA is where it is today because of you.
Andy
