I don't recall what the real name for this genre is, but I just realized that they really don't make these kinds of games anymore, do they? I'm talking games like "Streets of Rage", "Double Dragon", or "TMNT: Turtles in Time". SoR2 is my favorite game of all time and back in the day my brother and I would spend Saturday mornings playing SoR2. Does anyone know of any recent games in this genre? I just got a Nintendo Gamecube and I figure if any system has good 2+ player side-scrolling fighters, Gamecube would be it. Anywho, let me know and share any of your favorite games of this lost genre.

they are called beat em' ups, and tmnt hsh is the best one for genesis, and x-men arcade game and simpson arcade game too

OH hell yeah, I totally forgot about X-Men: The Arcade Game. Man, that game rocked so much. I was ALWAYS Colossius, 'cuz he would always go "ZOOOOMMMG!!" Whenever he used his special power and it sounded kinda funny. The Simpsons one was crazy good too. I never played the TMNT for Genesis though. *sigh* Man, those games were great.

The Golden Axe on Saturn was one of my personal faves. As well as Battletoads Vs Double Dragon. Streets of rage 2 is also killer.

I miss beat em ups. Those were some awesome games. My favorates were the Streets of Rage games, especially the 2nd one.

Streets of Rage = orgasm. That game was so awesome. I miss that game, like alot. The Simpsons was a great game too.

RIVER CITY RANSOM. Ah yes, it was like "Double Dragon" with Mexicans. (Even though I believe it pre-dated DD...)

Anywho, I saw a commercial for some Dragonball GT beat-em-up game. And I was like, "Holy crap!" Then I saw it was for GayBoy Advanced. :mad: But it's nice to see that at least the genre is still alive... happy end?! :froggy:

I live for the original one oh man, you call the cops and they be shooting from a totally different place impossible for the fire to shoot at. OH MAN. And those twins I HATE THEM. XD
