...is super coooool!

Actually, it's very much the same as the first one, with new songs and new characters. There's also a medley mode, where you can pick (either by choice or by random) snippets of something like 3-8 different songs in the game all in one shot. And there's a new microphone coming out that looks like a normal microphone.

Jen and I saw the song list and we were going nuts picking the songs that we'd be signing. I really like the songlist in Volume 2 a lot better, and I think I'll be way more into singing with you guys. I want to see how some of us would do in medley mode as well, with that cool new mic. :D

I was trying to look for it but I couldn't find it. So I asked Sir Abe and he told me maybe Konami's website. and well..

For some odd reason everytime I go it says the site is says "The operation timed out when attempting to contact www.konami.com"

SO yeah.. I do not know.. But we are still singing anyways buddy!

KONAMI'S KARAOKE REVOLUTION™ VOLUME 2 FEATURES A SOLID GOLD SONG LIST

it's the 6th one down...or at least it is for now. ^^; dunno how often they're going to update this.

agreed, but i dunno if that's the full list...maybe it's in addition to the other songs? and i hope they do make "expansion packs"...that just adds more songs....kinda like karaoke cds. i think that'd be cool...'cept maybe hard to do. ^^

That was the first one I played. XD It was cool, at E3 they had this "Club Revolution" (something like that) booth, which was just a little karaoke booth with 2 K-Rev setups and a cushioned bench thing. It was neato.

Anyway, that songlist on the Konami site was all of the songs they had on the demo there, so it's probably almost complete. I'm sure there will be a few unlocks.

When we play-tested K-Rev vol. 1 at Harmonix, the developers DID say that the software supported "expansion discs." I'm not really sure why they went and made Vol. 2 a whole new game, seeing as how it doesn't seem THAT much different than the first one, but oh well.

It's not. The original game did support expansion discs, but Konami just decided to make a whole new game.

Nope, I don't think they are. Hopefully they'll come out for the 2nd volume, so we don't have buy a 3rd volume or anything, either that or take ou thte expansion pack function completely.

personally i think the expansions would have been a better idea...but since i don't have the first one yet, it's not a huge problem for me. ^^;

Don't quote me on this if it turns out to be false, but unless I read the press release wrong they've relicensed every last KR1 song to reappaear in KR2. So KR2 is kind of like an expensive expansion disc that boots on its own.... sort of.

I don't think they really need to make expansions for KR as long as they spend the money to relicense every repeat song. An expansion disc would (theoretically) add new songs but new games would also add new characters, stages, and game modes. Plus, an expansion disc would require people to buy the original. Why do that? The executable code is already written! So just make the expansion disc playable on its own! (And you'd end up with KR2.)

Yeah actually you are right. I read it too. I forgot where though.. ::ponders:: That would hurt me.. Yeah but you are right. Unless the press is wrong on their own. It could happen. Look at the weathermen! God. Why can they be wrong and still get paid? If designers are wrong, they will never get paid. Damn them..

Anyways back on topic. Chop chop..

well that's good if they really include all the songs from the first krev. good for me, at least...buuuut, what about people that already bought the first krev? now they have to buy another one with the same songs they already have, plus more songs, more stages and characters. in that case, they woulda been better off if they waited until krev 2 came out. @@;

although more stages and characters would be really cool, the point of the game is the songs. this might just be me, but i'd rather just buy one game and then buy expansion discs for more songs because, generally, expansion discs are less expensive than a whole other game. if they don't go through with their idea of expansion discs, each time i wanted more songs i'd have to buy a new game. and i like saving money. ^_^;;

I dunno if that's true or not, but the version at E3 definitely did not have the K-Rev 1 songs. That doesn't really mean anything, though.

I just play tested this again today. :) I signed a non-disclosure thing, so no details. But you know it's coming out and you know it's not finalized, so I'll offer these tidbits which shouldn't come as a big surprise, but will maybe excite you a bit.

- Song list from E3 wasn't final
- There are some very cool new features that totally warrant a new game rather than just an expansion of the first game

Very cool. :)

Well... it hasn't come out yet... supposed to be released on the 14th, so none of us (except Mr. Guen) has played the game.

Yeah, that's why I said maybe it wasn't 2 that I tested, since I'm sure it's made and shipped by now if it's supposed to be out in 2 weeks.

Ummm, I guess the KR series is doing well then! :)
