Wow, those cabs look super sexy!! Awesome job guys. I look forward to seeing them when I get back!

Nice buttons too! :)

As for the sticks and the cabs they were purchased separately. The sticks look weird because they are standard Japanese style sticks, very different from the American models. Also the boards are Japanese as well. If you come down to TGA we'll be glad to play any of the games with you.

Although 3s has 7 buttons only 6 are used. Thats the traditional Japanese button angles.

Buttons:

LP MP HP NIU
LK MK HK

I was at the store, and i must say the machines run like BUTTAH. The cabinets kinda remind me of Pachinka machines. :mouse:

CvS2 on the head-to-head cabinet? Come on. That is probably the worst game to put on there (well, except for SvC... that would have been funny.) I thought you were putting a real game (like 3S, or RF2, or MB:AC... oops, there I go again ;) ) was going on there, what gives?

The majority of the people we spok to in the fighin game community preffered cvs2 in the doubles over 3rd strike, so thats wat we did. Cvs2 seems to be the most popular game right now. Right up there with #reload.

IMHO, i really think CvS2 takes A LOT more skills and brains to play. With CvS2, you actually HAVE to work on improving your game. There is a lot more of a demand on dexterity and mind games than 3s does.

With 3s, the only combo where timing is crucial would be Yun's Genei jin, Uriens wall game, and Makotos super. Every other combo is pretty simple. Its a good SF for new people to start with i think. But who would want to see: Ken, Chun Li, and Yun go at it all the time? not me... or see someone MASH with Christie Montiero/Elena? I think not.

Don't worry, there WILL be A LOT of exciting matches in CvS2, i guarantee it.

I'm sorry, but 3S is way more masher friendly than CvS2 is. Both are excellent games, but I don't care if you're a Daigo fan or whatever, my vote and opinion is still for CvS2 to be on the head-to-head. It's ignorant to call a game the worst SF game ever until you've played or have at least attempted to play it hardcore yourself.

Yesss, a believer!

June 30th, 2005, 05:32
Oh noes, a top player has come in and declared my opinion to be wrong because I am not hardcore enough. In doing so, he has implied several negative things about my abilities, brainpower, personality, and manhood. I shall now jump off a bridge to conclude my wretched and miserable travashamockery of a life.

....

I do not really like CvS2, and that all there is to it. (Then again, I can not recall the last fighting game I enjoyed that hardcore players would also bother playing.) Calling it bad may be a bit much (although I still maitain that the game is boring as hell to anyone not omgwtf super hardcore into it), as by any reasonable metric the game is fairly solid (then again, so is VF4, and no one wants to play that). My taste in fighting games (and games in general) has gone way off the deep end, and I think my preference for simpler games like Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive, or Melty Blood is due to a contrarian movement to run against the trend of current-day games getting more and more complex to sedate the fanbase's need for more options and more complexity. Instead, it is about making the games more about playing the player (with a stronger emphasis on meta-game aspects) and less about playing the engine by reducing the number of brick walls a player can throw up at somebody, and lessens the difficulty of climbing over any walls that can be thrown up. Either that, or I am just some button-mashing scrub; you can make the call there.

If CvS2 really gets more play than anything else down there (and I am not there every day), then of course put that there, it only makes sense.

Are you guys, insane?????? 3S is waaaaaay too easy to play, I mean parrying and charge partitioning are simpler than making Country Tyme Instant Lemonade on a balmy summers day!!!!!.

I mean really, if its too easy for you fellers, try using someone besides Ken and Yun.

Low-tier all the way. I haven't had the opprotunity to get into 3S or CvS2 or pretty much any of the 2d fighters, but there is nothing I enjoy more than pulling off insane wins with Ness against Marth in SSBM. So, if you find a game "easy", that's because you're taking the easy road, I think. People who play as Marth, I think, lack a lot of skill. But when I see someone kicking ass with Pikachu or Mewtwo, then I'm impressed.

I'll rock you with my Luigi ANY DAY. Just a little WD followed by a sliding downsmash. Maybe a little shorthop forward. Smack.

And SSBM is a game for little kids, but there's a lot of skill involved in it when you get to high-level play.

im wicked good at fighters watch me talk smack

really you need to calm down. the majority of people do abuse godtier characters.

as for you coming down and beating ANYone in ANY game with ANY character, come on down and im sure plenty of people will take you up on your offer. as for meelee being a kids game, i disagree. its more of a fun distraction from the big tough talking world of "real" fighters. you know, that one that people take way too seriously. you should sit in on some of the private cvs2 sessions we have. no were not incredible at it, but check out how much FUN we have. =P

if someone is beating everyones ass, let them talk shit, cause they can back it up. better than some shitty player talkin shit and not backing it up, or bitching when they lose

Of course, you do realize I was being silly about the 3S comment. I know its a departure from my usual stone-face, serious demeanor and all.....

And holy shit, DG's, good times, good times. Played SFII more at Dream Machine in Lincoln though, as it was closer to my house. I hear its a Job Lot now......

I'm not a top player and I'm not trying to offend or make judgement on anybody either, so chill out. CvS2 can be a little lame at times when you're having an unlucky day against A-groove or RC, but my opinion is that it's still the best fighting game available at the moment, it takes a high skill level to win at, and is the game that belongs on the head-to-head. 3S is an awesome game too (Yun and Chun are the equivalent of A-groove and RC lameness, red fireball spam Ryu is masher Yamazaki) but I don't think the turnout is going to be big as CvS2 is. Quite frankly, I feel the players in our New England area are stronger at CvS2, which means more demand, therefore --> CvS2 on the head-to-head.

Andy doesn't mind you guys saying swear words like "shit" all over his forum? :D
