Ok, here are the current contenders...
If anyone else wants something added one, post it here. Remember, Andy wants us to try and keep it at least a bit family oriented. So we'll try for that at least for the first one.... =D
(Also, I'm jus tryin to see if we can get people to decide on something... this rarely works... but hey)
/me grins.

Martain Successor Nadesico: The movie.
Actually screw movies.
AZUMANGA DAIOH BABY.
i think spirited away is the only "family oriented" one there. Because out of those, i've only seen bloodlust, and that movie sure isn't something i wanna show lil jimmy and sally. And i voted princess mononoke, because i've been wanting to see that. Boo yeah

this is just a basic review/summary thing for people who want to know more about these titles.
Princess Mononoke (http://www.animetric.com/nop/pm.html)
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (http://www.dvdvisionjapan.com/cowboymovie.html)
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (http://www.dvdvisionjapan.com/vhdb.html)
Spirited Away (http://www.dvdvisionjapan.com/sen.html)
anyway to add an option to a poll? i think if you add the option "other" it will encourage people to think of another good suggestion and reply. :]

i thought of that about bloodlust, but it's not as graphic as others...at least i think it's not...but it's been a couple years since i've seen it. ^^; is there a scene that i'm forgetting? also, the general audience at tga isn't THAT young...i think they avarage 14 or 15? o.o
but i wouldn't really know.

I have to say, the violence and blood in Bloodlust (as much as the name sudgests it) Isn't THAT bad. I've watched it on many occasions, I have to say, there IS blood, but it tends to be fairly quick, and not drawn out, except for some parts in the end, but it's nothing I would say is really bad.
And that's all there is, blood. No vicera, organs, anything, it's just blood, I think our youth can handle that =)
Honestly, it ends up coming down to Andy's choice. BUt this is just what the "viewers" wana see =)
And I'll get on that extra option if I can...
/me putters about the site....

Hmmm.. Form a rating stand point, what are we going for? If its around PG-13, then Princess Mononke.
iceymoon
May 17th, 2004, 11:36
i guess pg-13 would be closest to the age group that's mostly at tga...but i wanna watch them all! ^_^ i still haven't answered the poll cuz i can't decide. lol.

I'd go with Princess Mononke or Spirited Away, because they both rock, and are more "family oriented" than the other choices. I voted for Spirited Away.

I'd love to watch them all as well, which is why I suggested a late night fest for all those movies that the little ones wouldn't be keen to seeing. There are a lot of great moves out there that do show a little blood and a little skin, but in no way does that take away from the core story of the movie.
I personally voted for Cowboy Bebop, but I'd love to see anything. :)

INTERSTELLA 5555! Sooooo Awesome, Im going to pick that up this week, I watched it over a friends house, I love Daft Punk, Also FLCL wouldnt be bad at all, But for me, Nothing beats Cowboy Bebop :gator:

Of Juggatard's suggestions I'd have to go with either FLCL or Azumanga Daioh. FLCL is really just like 1 long movie if you watch it non-stop. And Azumanga Daioh rocks, period.

FLCL or Azumanga Daioh. They are the only things I've been able to hold an interest in for over 10 minutes.

Funny, because after 10 minutes, FLCL is already almost over. :P

I donated A Spirited Away Movie poster from my theater when theywere in the Heratage. And it was one of those "worth money" ones too. But I guess someone stole it or something *crys rivers of tears* :crybaby:

how did cowboy bebop get so ahead? Oo; it was behind before...
and question, any idea when the first anime night will be?
Darius
May 20th, 2004, 13:37
I have NO Idea. I just set up the poll =) Hopefully it will be when I have money, but if not, oh well. I'm sure I can deal.
I will be sad, but .. yea.
Anyway. I think it's been left to you and I to run this stuff Jen o_O
* chuckle *
So if you want I(or you if you want too :) ) can PM Andy and see when he would be cool with it, and if he gives me a date, we can close the poll the week before, and make SURE we have a copy of at least one of the movies on hand to pull it off. And have the secondary on hand just in case something goes wrong with the primary choice =)
We can set up new choices every time we gona run one of these in the poll, and you guys can vote each week...
Taht sounds pretty cool.
I think...
tell me if I just sound like a monkey wearing a bucket on his head. =D

If anyone cant get the bebop movie, I have one on loan from the library (I know the person who runs it) and dont plan on giving it back netime soon, I could prolly get my hands on a few others too.

That would be awesome man, as it seems that Bebop is in a commanding lead, it seems it will be the first nights first choice. But it still has to get OKed by Andy. We'll see what's up with that soon as we get a date for the first night from him.
However, I'm sad no one wants to see Bloodlust, I like that movie :(
Anyhoo. Thanks for the input guys keep it coming.

i own a copy of the bebop movie. ^^ if someone can come down here (providence) to pick it up (or pick me and bryan up) for the anime night, then we should be okay.
i would love to help, but i might not be able to do much for the actual anime viewing nights because i don't have a car, and also my work scheduel changes every week. did we pretty much agree on anime nights being wednesdays? o.o or that still up in the air?
i know, i love bloodlust! :/ i was the one that suggested it, i think. but i think only one vote went towards it because people are concerned about it being "suitable" for all type of viewers...so maybe we can make it one of the late night shows instead? ^^;
Darius
May 20th, 2004, 16:53
That sounds like a good idea. Well, I'll send Andy a PM, and see what he says. Ask him about the anime viewing nights and the "late night" viewings, see what he thinks entirely.
Also, if you guys are just in providence, I go right through/past providence on my way down. so if I was heading down for one, I could easily grab you guys on my way.
My one problem would be money =)
As I've stated too many times, I'm poor, so paying Andy for these things would be hard for me. Also paying the retarded prices they have on gas now to get there and back, which isn't that bad, I think it might take me like $5 to get there and back, but I'm not entirely sure.
But anyway. Yea... well, maybe we should rock paper scissors to see who PMs Andy? =)
I don't wana just take this project over, cause it's a rockin project, and for me to Bogard all of it, would be lame.
Also, for me to TRY And take all this on, would be silly of me, if we have two people "Running" it, it would make it much more plausible that one of us be present for the nights.
And yes, Wensday was the sudgested night. I personally like that Idea. and think we should stick with it.
More ideas from the man with two capital letters in his name for no good reason...

okay, so then we're a team? :D i'll PM you first to make sure we have all the info we need gathered from the two anime threads...and then we'll send that over to andy so that all he has to do is pretty much say "ok" and open the store on the day we agree on. ^^

I dunno, in the move to the new store Andy said the heratage people probable took it cause it was nowhere to be found. (that poster was really importand to Billy too ~_~)

I was thinking about what Andy said about other J-TV things , and I was wondering if anybody has any Sentai (http://www.japanhero.com/sentai%20image%20pages/simages.htm) (Edgier Japanese Power Rangers) Episodes. Those are way cool.

I've seen each of those movies a number of times and frankly, I don't want to see them again so soon. So I voted other and I suggest we watch FLCL because I really want to see that. So :-P

FLCL would be a good choice, Im biased towards FLCL and Cowboy Bebop though, Man, I think I'm ganna buy the Bebop season DVD's after all, Then Trigun, Then FLCL, That should entertain me for a while ^_^
iceymoon
June 4th, 2004, 10:47
if people were willing, we could pull off the whole flcl series in one day. Oo; it's only six episodes, right? although we might have to watch them twice to get a grip of what the FUCK is going on. lol
for now, though, cowboy bebop holds the most votes, so looks like that's our first anime night movie! speaking of which...
ryAn....shouldn't we get started on planning the specifics for anime night? ^^; we got andy's a-ok and stuff...

Quite right, very sorry, been kind of busy lately. Lesse... to give us two weeks, and to give people notice... the 16th , how'sat sound? Anyone have any qualms with that?
Once again, sorry for the lack of comm. lately.
iceymoon
June 4th, 2004, 12:51
the 16th sounds good to me...the 23rd is also an option incase people start saying they have something planned on that day or something. i think i might be going to tga tomorrow, so i can take my copy of cowboy bebop: the movie and leave it there until anime night. since i don't know whether or not i'm working that day or if i'd even be able to get there, that'd be the easiest thing. i really hope i remember to take it. but, who can i get to make sure it's taken care of? cd's are kinda sensitive...and i'm very protective of my anime. also, how's it gonna get back to me? ^^;;
so the 16th it is. unless the majority prefers the 23rd.

I voted for Spirited Away, because I love that movie, but I've never seen the others. lol. So, I am really open to anything.
Has anyone ever seen Kiki's Delivery Service. It's a preview before Spirited Away, and I've wanted to see it. Is it any good?
