So I went to see this movie earlier tonight and I have to say it was "freakin' sweet".
The best way I can describe it is "a smart slasher flick". It was (IMO) exactly what a horror movie should be. The name of the movie alone describes the feel of the film perfectly, it does not let you relax at all.

A basic run down of the plot:

Marie (the main character) and her freind Alex are college students who take a trip to stay with Alex's family to study for exams. Her family lives in an old renovated farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by fields of corn. In the middle of the night a stranger pulls up to the house in an old beat up truck and rings the doorbell. Marie wakes up and looks out the window to witness Alex's father answer the door, the response he gets is a straight razor. Basically after this all hell breaks loose. I can't really go into a lot of detail about the movie without ruining it. Its a movie thats best to watch not knowing a whole lot about it. Experiencing it for yourself is really the best way to find out more about it.

This movie also have a really damn cool plot twist, but like I said I won't give it away, you'll have to see for yourself.
If you have already seen this movie PLEASE! Do NOT give away the twist!

Its a french film, so its partially dubbed and partially subtittled. When I first heard they were doing that I was a bit wary on how well it would work, but it actually turned out pretty well. Oh yeah, the main character's (Marie) dub voice is the actress who actually played her, so that was a good thing.

I was also pretty stoked when "New Born" by Muse started playing as the theme to the movie. Its one of my fave songs ever and I thought it was fitting.

The only negative thing about this movie wasn't the movie itself, but the ignorant girls sitting behind us complaining about how they "didn't get it" after that major plot twist I mentioned (how you couldn't get it I have no clue, there's nothing to figure out really).

Lots of violence/blood, so its not for the kids.

I definatly reccomend seeing this movie if you are into that sort of genre.

Stax...you should know exactly what I mean :P

But yea, I agree, it was friggin amazing. Granted, I did get confused myself, a bit...but still. I've never seen a better suspense flick. :P
