Anyone played "Shining Tears" yet? I love teh original "Shining Force" games and I know "ST" is doing something totally different (it looks like FF: Crystal Chronicles).

I wasn't a big fan of FF:CC, but I do love the original Shining Force... Hmm...

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle was, i believe, the worst final fantasy installment ever. Not saying that the Final Fantasy X-2 wasn't as worse. But it doesn't mean that I hate Final Fantasy. ^_^

Oh man, i saw a review of shining tears on the game channel. DO NOT PICK THIS GAME UP! Whether it's for GBA or PS2, do not buy it. Both scored a 1 out of 5. They said it has to be one of the worst RPG's ever and they were let down from the original saturn version.

You saw "a review." Are you talking about G4? 'cuz frankly, they're full of shit. I disagree with almost everything they say. In any case, I've read some reviews, most noteably on Gamespot and, yes, even GameFAQs (which I kinda like since they're really in-depth and personal) too and they range from "this game is crap" to "OMG! BEST GAME EVAR!! 10/10!!" (seriously!). So I'm really wondering if anyone here has actually played the game and can tell me what aspects of the game kick ass or suck hardcore.

And for the record, FF:CC didn't impress me much though I've heard others rave about it. And FFX was good, but I got very bored very quickly with FFX-2 for some reason.

You probably know by now that it's a game for Ps2, not a song. I was just making sure no one confused this with either "The Shining Polaris" or everyone's favorite off-beat ass-rape: "Tears"

um nah i would have to say the the worst Final Fantasy game ever made would have to be 8, 9 and 10 and 10-2 together.........

and the reason behind that is this,

the original writers left the company after Tactics (probaly teh best FF game to date), because they were not getting paid enough. so teh company brought in new writers who suck horribly...4 bad games in a row?

and FFCC and FFTA were not bad infact i liked TA alot. but CC only gets a 7 out of 10.

but CC is by no means the worst one to date

As far as I know, and from what I've heard, Shining Tears is completely seperate from the original Shining Force series. And if it's supposed to be connected, then it must be something akin to Chrono Cross being a sequel to Chrono Trigger: A completely different game, timeline, and story, with a few loose ties thrown in. In short: Shining Tears is a lame strategy RPG, that appeals to one type of person: the kind of person that goes "Ooooh shit anime! *buy*"

"Shining Tears" isn't a strategy RPG at all. Or maybe you're just unclear on the strategy RPG genre.

As I see it, "Final Fantasy Tactics" was the best FF of all time. "Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced" was the worst. I mean, come on: FFTA has got nothing on FFT. It was a huge let-down.

In which case, I stand corrected. Perhaps I was simply looking at the strategy portion as the linking with your companion. -Shrug- In ANY case, my final point still stands. *OH SHIT, ANIME, *BUY*." Not that I'm one to talk, considering I just bought The Nightmare of Druaga due to its artwork, but it's still true.

FFTA was neve rment to be a big super RPG like 7 or Tactics. it was ment to be a fun little game... and that is what it was.

so ofcourse if you go into it wanting a huge stellar god-like rpg you will come out hating it. i did that the first time i tried it. then i tried again a mounth later, because i wanted somthing new and fun...and i ended up loving it!

I agree with the person above, FFTA was clearly garbage. -_- Enough so that I sold mine... heh.

Anyways, I don't own Shining Tears but I've played it before and it seems like a nice game.
