God of War, what an amazing game. I just beat it on normal mode after buying it saturday. On the save screen it said about 14 hours, but i would say more from trying and tryin again to beat a boss, then just shutting it off in rage. That's what this game does perfectly. Rage, Anger, Pissed off, F YOU! That is Kratos. A spartan soldier that gave his life to the God Of War Ares (Air-ease) for ultimate power. Ares in return saved Kratos' life and gave him two swords. Chained and burned on his flesh never to be removed. Well hope that wasn't a spoiler, even though it really doesn't have to do that much since you find that out in about the 2nd level. Well anyways, the graphics are astounding. They really just blow away Xbox, Gamecube, and some PC games. It is by far the greatest looking game on ps2, easily. All with about 5-6 load times throughout the whole time. And each load time is about 1-3 seconds. The gameplay is great. It's just so gruesome and vicious. The most angriest ways you could kill people are in this game. You can grab someone, then rip their body in half, grab medusa, twist her head off to get magic orbs in return. You collect orbs. Green for health, blue for magic, and red for upgrades (a la Devil May Cry). The red orbs upgrade your powers and weapons and such. The more you kill, the more red orbs you get. The more red orbs, the more power. By the end you'll be insanely powerful and kill the peons in the beggining of the game in 1 hit. There's also Spartan Rage mode. Like Devil May Cry, you have a, let's say, rage meter. The more combos you do (yes, insane combos, i did a 347 combo) the more the meter fills up. Once it's full, you press R3 and L3 and you trigger what i call Super Spartan mode. You become blue, extra fast, extra powerful, and extra pissed. Then there's all types of gameplay elements such as action, adventure, puzzle, strategy, fighting, platforming and more. The sound is amazing too. Great orchestral scores that really capture the anger and feeling of the game. I'm getting angry just thinking about it. Trust me, you'll get into this and get really pissed (because of the whole mood. Only a few places are really frustrating), and that only makes you better at the game and more into it. I really still feel like I havn't done this game justice. It's amazing. It's definitely going to be a lead contender for game of the year against RE4. Plus there's a ton of unlockables when you beat it (which include a possible God of War 2, possibly, guessing dont hold me to this please lol) and once you beat it on God Mode (i'm guessing is insanely hard) you get secret messages, a ton of back story to the game and much more. The story is really good, it really draws you in. The voice acting is also very high quality. I just feel like i could go on and on but I'll stop it here. So if you do and you should get this game, get ready for some fun. The camera is fixed but i only had about 3 problems with it during the whole game. I just wish it was free moving because i wanted to look around because it's so amazing looking.

You have to play this game. But just in case you're a sensitive person to violence, you may want to pass this up. It is incredibly violent and yet, that's what sets it above and beyond, but not just because of the violence, but because of the way it's presented in an open ended way.

P.S.
If you do play it, do me a favor and TURN OFF SOFTENING in the options menu. It's like smearing vaseline on your tv. It's stupid. It made my friend feel sick after playing with it on. So after that, enjoy :D

I haven't actually played the game but on Saturday Vamp's friend Aaron brought it and they were playing it and it looked awesome. And I've read some reviews I want it badly. T.T
