I saw people play this game before, and, the way it was set up, makes Pop'N Music look easy. I play the piano, and I thought about purchasing this game to brush up on some skills. :p Anyways, tell me your experiences with this game? It would be interesting... :D

BTW - First Thread for Keyboardmania!! YEah!! :guin:

I've seen it set up at TGA before. Never played it though. I hear one gripe about it is that you don't get penalized for mashing like in IIDX or Pop'n. Seems fun though, has the original Ride on the Light, and Frozen Ray.

Yeah, as many keys there is on the controller, there is many possibilities for crazy high difficulties. I would be a good idea to take that out, since timing is the key instead makes things possible, plus it would be nice to add your own keystrokes to a song.

Standard Bemani Fare...
Hit it too late, you suck. Hit it too early, you suck. Don't hit it at all, you suck. Now, repeat that with more keys than Beatmania IIDX and Pop'N music and lack of real knowledge of hand placement... Plenty hurtage...

I can play a few 3-star Real songs... I used to play piano for 7 years, so playing in normal mode was too restricting for me. I'd love to get more into the game, but the timing is weird, it's way to exact at times, and then sometimes it's not. I haven't seen anybody else successfully play it yet though.

I would probally consider purchasing it, maybe after I collect some IIDX and Pop'N stuff.
I haven't played piano in a while so I need the little practice. It looks really restricting, but the concept seems fun. If you guys run into Tatsujins, please share links here.

I saw 2 versions of KBM when I went to California the last time. One was at Arcade Infinity and it had 2 separate standard number key controllers. The other was at an arcade in Riverside and it was a full keyboard - I think that was KBMIII now that I think about it.

Keyboardmania rocks. If I had more patience and KBM 2nd and 3rd Mix, I would play a lot more often. It has some of the best songs in Bemani, and is just really fun. It's not really any more difficult than PnM or IIDX, just very intimidating and different.

I had a party, yesterday, and I had Keyboardmania up for play. I am buying another keyboard and 2nd/3rd mix by the end of next weekend. So far, Keyboardmania is hard, but the grading system is pretty light on people. The hardest part about the game is aligning your hands to press 3 to 4 keys at the same time. There is also Hold-Keys for the more midi-like songs. I had Keyboardmania 1st, but the song list is a bit lacking. However, people seem to get into the game pretty easily, so, as long as you start the game on super easy mode and work your way up, you'd get good. As far as real pianoist out there, the game seems to be more like beatmania, with certain keys playing certain sounds. The game counteracts with Real mode which is bassically real keyboard playing, so the game is a worthy investment for BOTH the gamer and the hardcore pianoist.
