After hearing and reading about what people had to say about Ringu, "Oh Ringu is much better than the Ring," "It's scarier," yadda yadda. I've watched it myself and when Ringu ended, I was like "F*$@"..not literally though,lol. But I was mad that I've just wasted 4 bucks on it. Ringu wasn't scary at all, it was more faster and somewhat funny. The acting was Ehh and the way the people died was just funny. To me, I would say The Ring is much better than Ringu.. if anybody wants to see it, just borrow it from a friend or something, not worth wasting your money on. Though I bet the sequel and prequel and final chapter of Ringu is better, but I haven't seen it. Anyways.. Ringu equals, fast paced, poor acting, funny deaths. The Ring equals, Suspenseful, Scary, good acting, no funny deaths and much better story too.

--Does anyone know how to get the other Ringu movies..like the sequel and yadda yadda?? Cause I've read about them and it seems much bette than the first. @_@

I agree with Stax, so I'm going to actually respond to the topic. Booyaka.

I'll have to agree with you that The Ring was a better suspenseful type of movie, and it was a good movie in terms of plot. But seeing how I saw Ringu BEFORE The Ring, I tend to frown on it more than praise. Ringu one kindof sucked if you were expecting a scarier movie than The Ring, however if you watch Ringu 2 & Ring Zero, I'm sure that your views may change on the Japanese Trilogy. The storyline unfolds, and it just weaves better and more fluidly than the american version. I ordered mine off of Ebay, and I'm sure they still have it somewhere out there. ^_^;

Why do people like these horrible movies? The ring is just stupid as hell. It's not even scary. It was a waste of my 3$ to rent it. It was just as bad as Darkness Falls and all the other crap movies. I think that the scariest thing around now is RE4. Play that alone at night, loud, in the dark. I guarantee you'll be scared lol. I crapped my pants when i opened a box and a snake bit me in the face.

I liked the US one better than the Japanese one too. However, I actually don't really like the Japanese sequels. The story kind of goes off into a completely different area, and it's sort of weird. I just saw the US sequel, and although the movie was just mediocre, I like the storyline better than the Japanese ones.

Anyway, The Ring is probably my favorite horror movie. It's a lot more than just a simple slasher film, and I loved the cinematography and stuff.

my sister and her friend went to see the ring 2 yesterday, and they told me that they were pretty disapointed. they told me that it barely scared them (and my sister gets scared at any movie) and the movie was kinda boring.

im gonna have to go watch myself, i didnt like the first one at all, i hope this is a lot better.

If you're expecting to go see Ring 2 and see a horror movie, you're out of luck I'm afraid. Then again, I didn't consider the first one a horror movie either.
I do think that the American sequal was far FAR superior to the Japanese sequal. I thought it was a pretty decent movie.
I still like the original Ringu better than the american remake (the 1st one) though.

I find J-Horror creepy.
J-Horror is more like a psycological creepy, like freaky funky messed up kinda genre.
I find US Horror dumb, perdictable and only 1-2 parts make you jump, because people jump out and scare you.

My sis went to see the sequel and she said that she was scared a few times here and there but it wasn't as scary as the previews had said. Though she did say that the ending of the sequel was exciting and that it was the best part of the movie. I haven't seen it yet but I would soon will. ^_^
