Can I just say... this looks COMPLETELY different from what everyone was expecting back in January. Totally different interface, looks kind of like ultramix. Lots of licenses (YMCA yay...), and a Akira Yamaoka song from Silent Hill! (Your Rain (Rage Mix)). Eye Toy support also looks... interesting... kind of like a Para Para + DDR Cross or something... plus other modes...

WOW!! E3 is busting out all the interesting games this year... Last year, just sucked... I can safely say that US DDR now kills JAPAN DDR.

Wow, talk about Konami pulling out all the stops. I'm waiting to see what fun the Eye Toy brings to DDR. I'm sure TGA will be on top of this little craze. And I didn't expect the interface to change at all, that really floored me. Again, it's not as design savvy as I had wished it to be, but we'll have to wait and see.

Its almost like Konami wants lots of licenses, since Karaoke Revolution did so well, they probably want to get something off that. Sure, Bemani songs are nice, but not everyone likes them as much.

Konami seems to bet getting their asses in gear. Maybe they might make another arcade DDR Machine afterall

Am I the only one who looks at this new interface and sees the unwed child of DDR Ultramix and In The Groove? Or am I on some LSD trip here?
That and here is to hoping that Konami bothers to make some interesting and/or difficult stepcharts for some of the new songs, unlike with MAX or MAX2 US (hell, even the ones from Extreme were bleh -- but they were more fun, at least).

Well, we'll see how they come out in the finished product....but the songs I played weren't simple 5-6 footers like they've put in the US home versions in the past. They were fairly interesting.

It's like the interface for DDR1. What I think Konami is doing is returning DDR to its "roots." Squaresoft did the same thing with Final Fantasy IX: "FF9 returns to its “roots”, meaning the story and plot will be shitty and predictable once again." Let's hope DDR Extreme (which should be called "DDR X-treme" or "DDR SEXtreme") doesn't fall victim to the same poor judgment of developers and blow 60 FPS ass-chunks.

They also say that there is going to be maybe all of the characters since ddr started on this game, I am not 100% sure of this so dont quote me. There is also said to be in the 70 range for songs.
Does anyone know how many characters the DDR Extreme (JP Import) has???
