I'm pretty sure it's called Half Past Dead and it was with Ja Rule. When they were in the jail right? I've never seen it but people said it sucked. I don't really like Steven Segal. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0297162/ Is that it?

Yo rappa's been on the streets, they don't gotta act. They have that raw emotion developed from conforming to the social norm of their surroundings. They ain't actin they reliving what aready happened. That makes there performance even more powerful.

It's harder to rap than you think. There are a lot of talented rappers out there. Most of the mainstream ones (much like mainstream rock.. I'm assuming you like rock judging by your siggy..) aren't as good as the underground artists. I'm not sure if your statement was a generalization directed towards all rappers, and I don't mean to come off as hostile either way, but not all rappers have no musical talent. Some of them make their own music and beats and make music and beats for others, some are producers, some are writers, some are musical prodigies.
Not liking a genre gives no one the reason to make generalizations about the talent of the artists in that genre.
That last sentence wasn't directed towards you, but was some food for thought for everyone.
Peace. <3.

while that may be true most rappers buy their beats and cant write songs any deeper than yo nigga yo y'all is trippin.
and to insane bassist, you shouldnt take offense to a word. that only shows how weak minded somebody is when they let shit like that bother them.
and to everyone, a rapper trying to act is just another way of capitalizing off the fame they already have, and a way to make even more money to buy cadillacs to write songs about.

I'm not exactly afraid of coming across as weak, rather trying to get the point across that the use of that word was improper. It's not cool, it's like using gay that way. Uncool.
And I don't listen to rap, but some rappers can write great lyrics. Plus, if you've ever seen someone freestyle, that takes a lot .

That is a terrible generalization. There are hundreds--thousands--of rappers who make all of their own music. They go into the studio and sit and experiment until they make a beat that they like, or a beat that fits their rap. But like any other human being, they too must get help with their music. Not every person can find the perfect word to fit into their song every time, and not every person can waltz into a studio, make their own beat, lay down the rap and walk out with a new single. Some are forced to buy beats because they don't have the means to make their own. I'm talking about underground rappers, and local rappers, those that don't make millions because they show up on MTV every hour.
However, those that are famous... not all of them fit the generalization that you said. The songs that you hear on mainstream radio appeals to the masses--and right now the big thing is exactly what you explained. The cool thing now is to write about how much money you make and how you came to be and how much better you are than everyone else. It's a lot like a competition. But some artists are a lot deeper than that.
You remember that really awesome band you liked? Then they got that new album and it was really bad, and the worst song on their worst album ever was put on the radio because it was the new, hip thing, and everyone would like it because it was so mainstream? Yeah, it's kinda like that.
So to say "most rappers" buy their beats, I have to say, yes, most do, because they have no other choice. To say that they
"can't write songs any deeper," I have to say, no, untrue, you're only being exposed to the mainstream.
and to insane bassist, you shouldnt take offense to a word. that only shows how weak minded somebody is when they let shit like that bother them.
That doesn't make her weakminded, that makes her stronger for expressing her beliefs and dislikes without hesitation. And even if she was weakminded, why should that matter?

im sad to say. i havent listened to mainstream music in a long long time. this includes rap, which i would give a chance. if it werent for the fact that i loathe the culture and the effect it has on today's kids.(this pertains to the yo im straight gangster attitude)
and to insane bassist, you shouldnt take offense to a word. that only shows how weak minded somebody is when they let shit like that bother them.
i was pointing out the fact that anyone can state their feelings without hesitation on the internet. especially on a forum like this one. a forum for overly pc people taking offense to the slightest thing. =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =)
a that bother them.
