I've been hearing a lot of things on the web on how to mod, and so far it looks like its a lost cause to try to mod it at the moment. Lots of people have been saying that they just don't work after a few days, or numerous other problems. So I'm going to hold off on trying right now. I would love to play import games as soon as possible, but modding my current ps2 would probably fry it. (it's old) One thing I have heard however, is that the slim ps2 won't know the machine is open if the disc cover is opened about 1.5-2 cm. So, taking some soft tweezers or something, some people have been able to swap discs this way. Anybody have an un-modded new slim ps2 and wanna try? I'd like to know before I buy one.

I heard if you just glue down the eject button on the new ps2 it doesnt realize its open. That's just what i heard. Why not just get a flip top on your old ps2?

I hear if you tape down buttons on the new slim ps2, they just stop working after two days. Booby trapped or something.Well, my old ps2 is so old it might blow up or something if I try =/ But it sounds more and more like a lost cause. I'll probably end up getting a fliptop for an old ps2.

I'm excited about new PS2's. It means people will be trading in older ones that work.
I hear the slims fry themselves if you try any sort of funny business, so I'm not going to bother.

Anybody getting a slim who's willing to sell an old PS2 to me?

OOO WAIT FLIP TOP FOR SLIM PS2!!! Go Cybershop's PStwo flip top (http://www.gocybershop.ca/customer/product.php?productid=1294&cat=0&page=) That place is pretty good. I ordered my topways from them this summer. It's in canada so theres like a 3$ import fee or somethin, iuno, didn't pay attention. None in stock atm but should be soon. Good luck.
