On friday I got the honor of playing a demo version of Metroid Prime: Hunters at the Gamestop in the MAWF. I was impressed. I thought aiming with the stylus might be a little awkward, but within a minute or less I was totally comfortable taking out the metroids with ease and style. There was some platforming that was a little uncomfortable, but in first person what platforming isn't? So anyway, I enjoyed it. A lot. In fact, I'm buying mine on Tuesday and I'm excited.

Anyone else as excited as I am for the DS? What do you think? (please don't turn this into a war over the next gen handhelds)

I played a demo at the store the other day, and the control scheme is WAY better than what it was at E3 this past year. But the highlights for me were games like Wario Ware and Pac Pix anyway.

I'll probably get one at some point, but there really aren't many launch games that I feel I need to have. I'd probably get Feel the Magic XX/XY and maybe Mr. Driller.

the wonders of working at a gamestore. 15% discount on everything but systems. I picked it up, along with Mario 64x4. It's pretty damn fine.
The metroid demo is cool, but the game really shines with four people on it. We had two folks on the demo system and two on their own ds's. That was pimp smackin fun

my store has sold every pre-order we were allotted. You find random ones in random places. As of yesterday, the Sears in the mall had two more. So look in places with crappy video game sections,they might have one or two

I know! I went to an EBGames, I had a $50 off coupon if I traded in some stuff, and they didn't have any!! So I get mine next Tuesday. I was a little ticked off because I wanted to buy it for my trip to Canada.

Oh ya, I'm posting from my brothers room at the University of Toronto. It's pretty sweet. We've been playing Go! and some other shit. Fun.

people come into the store actually angry that we don't have them. We explain pre oders to them, and they just get mad. So for future reference, pre-order everything

Im just going to go to the local gamestop and see what they are going to tell me. I have had good luck there, ex: Grabbing HL2 a day after it came out with no problem at all. Its worth a shot

I picked up 2 DS and Super Mario 64 DS at the North Dartmouth Best Buy yesterday. I saw only one other one on the shelf. It was incredibly crowded in there (I went at around 8 in the morning on Black Friday). My brother and I have been sending messages to each other all day.

I have one, Andy got me one for my birthday saturday. It was amazing and what makes it awesome is that it's the JPS version.

You're right. We did get them before they did. I finally got my DS, and I'm absolutely loving it. I've been playing Mario 64 which, although it's a remake, is a lot of fun, being able to play as Yoshi Luigi and Wario is just great. One of my friends got a DS as well, and during our free period at school we've been playing the Metroid demo and Mario on multiplayer which is ridiculously fun. But hey, I'm planning on buying a PSP as well soo... we'll see which one is better.

When's the DS restock suppose to come? I read that within the first week they sold 90% of the DS's that were made which was 500,000 systems. My friend said they're restocking in march but i read that they're suppose to restock today. True?

you'll find random re stocks in random places. But most likely you'll see the next shipment, of five million units, in early to mid febuary

Ridge Racer DS? Looking good? Have you seen the PSP version? Makes that game look like absolute shit.

That is the problem here -- the PSP makes the DS look really bad (while the PSP has battery life, anyway).

On that note, I am getting Mr. Driller DS tomorrow so I actually have something to play on my DS. >_<

most likely when the psp has offical american release dates. Even then, it'll only drop to like $120. Or they'll just say "we're only $150, PSP is $2XX, we're the 'budget' handheld"

I just got Mr. Driller Drill Spirits for x-mas, and it's actually a damned fun game. Sure, it doesn't push the limits of what the DS can do, but isn't the purpose of a portable system different from that of a console? If I can pick it up, have fun for 20 minutes, and then get back to what I'm doing, then I think it's doing its job. Granted, for car rides you'd want longer games like Mario but hey... ya...

My point is, Mr Driller is fun.
